Dear Lisa
Physical therapy finished on September 3rd -- What an
interesting experience; yes, pain but progress was slow and
sure. It was fun getting to know some of the therapists—these
folks work very hard and listen well to the stories of their
patients. I’m so glad it’s done! There is still pain but it, too, is
slowly decreasing. Take my advice and never have rotator cuff
surgery! Thanks again to all who donated for the surgery costs,
as well as the PT. God has blessed me with a supportive, caring
team—you guys! I’m so grateful.
This summer I taught an Iraqi Muslim girl English—
she’s only been in the U.S. for 1½ years and so is struggling in
high school with her English. She’s learned tons in that time
but needs more help. She says she doesn’t have time for the
lessons now that school has started. She has been attending an
Arabic church, which is amazing to me! The family needs help
but the two sisters are hearing the gospel! Please pray for their
salvation. In August, a new Friends of Muslims group started up at
my church, The Orchard! We’ll have monthly meetings there. There’s prayer for Muslim friends, some teaching &
encouragement and hopefully we will plan some outreaches. Most are quite new to Muslim outreach so it’s a challenge for
me to know how to help them. I really need the Lord’s
guidance & your prayers!
Please do pray also for my dad. He has so much pain
and life gets tough; we hate to see him in all that pain, so pray
for grace to bear it well.
Another of my Muslim friends just got a job at
Carson’s! This is encouraging because I’ve been helping her
with job applications. Pray for her heart to soften towards the
Lord—she sure has a rough life. Your verses and prayer requests refresh me—please
keep them coming! I'm so grateful for your partnership in
prayer and giving.
