PAL accomplishes its goals by providing numerous educational, recreational, and athletic programs to thousands of Albany youth each year. These activities equip youth to build relationships, instill selfrespect and discipline and develop character. Ranging from Chess, to Martial Arts, Youth Leadership Council to Lacrosse– There is a program for everyone at PAL! PAL membership is open to all youth who live in or attend school in the City of Albany, regardless of race, sex, or socio-economic circumstances, with an emphasis on those youth who are most underserved and underprivileged. PAL is dedicated to providing youth with the support and skills they will need to journey towards a brighter future. Enrolling your child in Albany PAL’s Homework Club is simple. PAL After School-Homework Club To enroll: 1. Call the PAL Office at (518) 4350392 and set up a time to come in. 2. Complete the Homework Club application during your visit. You will need: Location| VI Community Center Daily| 2:15pm – 6:00 pm |Homework Club| Current Health Records A photo ID Overview $25 registration fee Homework Club is designed to be a safe structured environment for youth in grades 1 through 7. 3. Pay the first month’s tuition prior to the start of program in September. In order to provide the best possible service to each child, Albany PAL charges a minimal tuition to families who enroll their child/children in the Homework Club. Albany PAL Homework Club is based on the ability to pay, with 5 different tier payment levels available. The first month’s tuition is due at the time you submit your application with subsequent payments due on the 1st day of each month. Scholarships are given on a case by case basis. Not everyone who applies may receive a scholarship. Payments are due promptly on the first day of the month. Checks made payable to Albany PAL. Youth receive homework assistance, snack and participate in different activities each day. Youth members are supervised and mentored by Albany Police Officers, PAL staff, and college interns. After homework is completed children often play in the gym or outside (weather permitting), play table and board games, or work in PAL’s computer room. The After School Homework Club also strives to include a relevant social, environmental and cultural project each day that youth may participate in.
