Every September, the needles of the alpine larch turn a
spectacular yellow-gold. In addition to the popular Larch Valley
hike there are many other fabulous trails in and around Lake
Louise to explore the fall colours. Consider checking out one of
these unique trails:
Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House, 5.5km one way, 420m elevation gain,
4 to 5 hour round trip
Lake Agnes Tea House, 3.4km one way, 385m elevation gain, 2 to 3 hour
round trip
Saddleback, 3.7km one way, 595m elevation gain, 3 to 4 hour round trip
Taylor Lake, 6.3km one way, 585m elevation gain, 4 to 5 hour round trip

Cruise for fourteen minutes, in an open chair or a fully enclosed
gondola, to one of Banff National Park’s greatest views! From the
top, at 2088m (6850ft), the spectacular scenery is yours to explore.
There are ambitious hikes to the summit of Whitehorn Mountain
for the hardy, or equally lovely short, leisurely strolls for those with
more modest exercise goals. From the interpretive centre you can
sign up for a 45 minute ‘Trail of the Great Bear’ guided walk and
have access to the new Whitehorn Lodge Restaurant.

at the Lake Louise Visitor Centre Theatre for an interactive
presentation highlighting current fire management strategies,
including: prescribed fire, wildfire management, and forest health
best practices. Through photos, videos and first-hand account, Jed
will take you through the science and decision making to answer
the question of to burn or not to burn.

series ‘America The Wild’ on Nat Geo WILD for his hour long
“Bear With Me” presentation where Casey discusses his unique
relationship with Brutus and offers insight into grizzly bears and
wild animals, in general. Through hair-raising stories from the
field, his life with Brutus, and the lessons learned along the way,
Casey explains how his experiences have made him a better person,
and have nurtured in him a passion to help preserve the planet.

Brewster Stables in Lake Louise is offering five special all day
rides in September. The rides will take you into some of Banff
National Park’s most spectacular places. The fall colours will help

workshop weekend in October. The ‘Take Better Photographs’
workshop is aimed at beginner and intermediate photographers
who use either compact or ‘SLR’ digital cameras. It is comprised
of presentations and discussions at the Chateau Lake Louise,
a photography field trip beside the lake and a critique session.
