Hillary
Rodham Clinton
Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. After nearly four
decades of public service as an advocate for children and families, First Lady,
Senator and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton now helps lead
the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. She is also the author of
the new book Hard Choices, which chronicles her efforts to restore America’s
leadership after eight years in which it was badly eroded, from repairing our
fraying alliances to negotiating a cease-fire in Gaza that defended Israel’s
security and headed off another war in the Middle East, to mobilizing an
international coalition to impose crippling sanctions against Iran, to standing up to China and helping reassert the United States as a Pacific power.
Thanks in large measure to Hillary’s leadership, people were finally able
to say: America’s back. She championed human rights, Internet freedom,
religious freedom, and rights and opportunities for women and girls, LGBT
people, and young people around the world, as she has her entire career. She
also went to bat for American workers and companies around the world
to boost exports, create jobs back home, and level the playing field against
unfair competition from China and elsewhere. At the Clinton Foundation,
Hillary continues her work on behalf of women and girls, in support of
early childhood development, and to help young people get the skills they
need to find good jobs and participate in the global economy. She remains
committed to making the American Dream an American reality.
Lupita Nyong’o made her feature debut in Steve McQueen’s Academy
Award–winning film 12 Years a Slave. For her portrayal as Patsey, Nyong’o
received the Academy Award in the category of “Best Supporting Actress”
as well as numerous awards such as the Screen Actors Guild® award and
the Critics’ Choice award. This summer she begins production on the J.J.
Abrams–directed Star Wars: Episode VII. Next she will lend her voice to Jon
Favreau’s The Jungle Book as well as co-produce and star in a film based on
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel Americanah. Nyong’o is also a filmmaker,
having served as the creator, director, editor and producer of the award-winning feature-length documentary In My Genes about the treatment of Kenya’s
albino population. Nyong’o is a Lancôme Brand Ambassadress and was seen
as one of the faces of the Miu Miu Spring 2014 campaign. @lupita_nyongo

Bridging the Cross-Gender Communication Gap to Improve Your Leadership and Advance Your Position (W)
Survey results of over 100,000 in-depth interviews of men and women executives in over 60 Fortune 500 companies reveal the staggering number of false
assumptions and opinions men and women have of each other, and in many ways, believe in themselves. No wonder we face such a tremendous communication
gap in the workplace. What causes these misunderstandings, miscommunications, mistrust, resentment and frustrations at work? Relationship and communications guru John Gray will share insight to answer these questions and identify the eight blind spots that compel men and women to think and act as they do.
Learn practical advice so you can remove the blind spots that prevent men and women from working and succeeding together. We will explore ways to bridge the
communication gap to improve your problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, stress management and overall leadership effectiveness. Unlock this
and advance your leadership position!

Transforming Your Organization, Transforming Your Life (POE)
Transformational leaders are not pillars of power, but they are powerful beings. While managers are often transactional agents, successful leaders achieve great results with their ability to transform through the power of inspiring and motivating others around them. Showcasing the real experiences of greater Boston’s most
talented leaders, this session will share their unique journeys around how they transformed their businesses, teams and bottom line — and the impact that has
had on their careers, organizations and lives. Using their firsthand experiences, we will explore how integrity, humility, transparency, flexibility and collaboration
were critical attributes to becoming a transformational leader. With a blend of practical advice and inspiration, attendees will walk away with an understanding of
what steps you can take to drive transformation in your professional and personal lives.

Understanding the Science and Art of Receiving Feedback to Negotiate What Matters Most (W)
We get feedback every day of our lives, from friends and family, colleagues, customers, bosses, teachers, doctors and strangers. We’re assessed, coached and

Secrets for Winning at Work: The Handbook for Emerging Professionals and Career Success (W)
It’s not easy to enter the workforce today. For the first time in history, four generations are sharing the workplace — and sometimes it feels like they are living in

Flex: Strategies for Thriving in a Multicultural and Multigenerational Workplace (W)
“Flexing” is the art of switching between leadership styles to more effectively work and engage people who are different from you. The workplace is growing increasingly multicultural, female and younger. As today’s leaders, you must be able to navigate this diverse work environment. Yet because cultural differences can
be invisible or difficult to spot, we may not pick up on subtle nuances that we encounter daily. Internationally renowned executive coach and leadership strategist
Jane Hyun will share practical advice for building trust and connecting with those who are different than us to create innovative solutions at work and achieve
greater outcomes in life. Attend this interactive session to:
• Understand the Power Gap, the dimension you need to master;

This session won’t focus on cutting all the carbohydrates out of your diet, or replacing every single gram of sugar with omega-3 fatty acids, or urging you to do
100 sit-ups a day, or getting on the treadmill whenever you have a free second. In fact, it’s not about any of the total lifestyle-replacement gimmicks — whether
diet, exercise or pop psychology — that have swept our culture in recent years, putting untold millions of Americans on the risky roller coaster of success and failure that defines fad diets and programs. Small Changes, Big Results is about reality — the reality of what you can do, the reality of what you want to do and the
reality of what works for the long run. This interactive session will explore how you can introduce a series of small changes each week for the next three months
in the three core areas of diet and nutrition, exercise and fitness, and emotional wellness. Learn how you can implement a practical action plan with incredibly
doable tasks each week that will have you yield optimal results and achieve both physical and emotional wellness.

proud to present its Young Women’s Program, which provides high school junior and senior girls with the opportunity to attend the Conference and
participate in a seminar track designed especially for them. The participation of over 500 high school students at this year’s Conference is made possible
thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. This unique program enables our next generation of leaders the opportunity to hear from dynamic speakers,
exchange ideas and begin to chart their own paths. In our 10-year history, more than 6,500 young women have attended the Massachusetts Conference for Women as a result of these scholarships. Please take a moment to acknowledge the young women in attendance as you travel the halls of the
convention center today. You may be sharing your experience with future teachers, doctors, authors, CEOs or even a president!
SESSION I: 10:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.
Finding the Courage to Follow Your Passion: A Conversation With Today’s Rising Stars (POE)
We live in a culture of perfectionism, despite the logic of knowing that nothing and no one can be perfect. Making mistakes is not only natural but necessary to build character, learn and grow. Is the fear of making mistakes and achieving perfection holding you back from taking a chance at school, home or
in life? Millennial expert and author Jessica Bacal will offer strategies to combat our culture of perfectionism. Featuring a panel of rising stars, this session
will also share real perspectives and offer practical advice for taking risks, making mistakes and ways to recover when you stumble along the way. Whether
you are an aspiring entrepreneur, artist, student, social do-gooder (and the list goes on), prepare yourself to be inspired from this remarkable panel of stars
and get ready to overcome your fear of failure for a road to success!
Thought Leader: Jessica Bacal, author, 25 Mistakes I Made at Work @jessicabacal
Panel of Experts: Wendy Darling, artist, Artists for Humanity @sooambitious
Emma Johnson, founder, Em John, high school student and aspiring college student @emjohnjewelry
Host: Karen Korellis Reuther, creative director and brand psychologist, Cast Collective @cast140
SESSION II: 11:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Women SPEAK: Becoming a Change Maker for a Positive Self-Image (W)
As millennials, we are at the forefront of the exponential surge in virtual connection and technology. We are always connected — be it through Twitter, Instagram, text or other online sources — to each other and to the world of celebrities. While it is fun and allows us to be “in the know,” it also contributes to
our feelings of self-image, and oftentimes not in a positive way. Do you find yourself feeling inferior to the images of women in the media? Are you feeling
pressure to be something different based on what you see in the media? Do you feel good about the person you are inside and out? Using live polling, we
will show you that you are not alone; your peers also struggle with feelings of self-doubt — it’s only natural. This session will help you to alter your thinking to feel more confident and positive about your self-image. Attendees will explore:
• How women and girls are portrayed in the media and how that affects your thinking about your image;
• Whether the image you portray to others is reflective of who you want to be and how you are perceived;
• Tips to positively represent yourself to others; and
• The pros, cons and how-tos of using social media to share personal information and how that can positively or negatively impact your self-image
Co-speakers: Kristin Jones, co-founder, Women SPEAK, and student, Howard University @womenspeakteam
Bernadette Lim, co-founder, Women SPEAK, and student, Harvard College @womenspeakteam
Host: Sally D. Fassler, managing director, chief financial officer, and Risk and Oversight Committee member, Sankaty Advisors

contemplate launching a new business, product or service.

SOCIAL MEDIA ROUNDTABLES LOCATED IN EXHIBIT HALL A
#masswomen
Understanding that conference attendees come to the “table” with a very diverse set of social media skills, needs and
interests, we are thrilled to offer social media roundtables.
Led by an expert facilitator, roundtables offer an informal and intimate setting to share best practices around a very
focused and specific topic within the social media world. Roundtables are discussion-based and will not feature a
formal presentation. This ensures each discussion is truly personalized and allows attendees to ask questions relevant
to their needs.
Roundtables are limited to 10 people per topic and are first come, first served. We encourage you to come early to
guarantee your spot. However, we will offer each roundtable a total of three times to allow attendees the opportunity
to participate in multiple discussions on different topics and ensure that participants have another opportunity to
join should a table fill up fast.
SOCIAL MEDIA ROUNDTABLES WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES IN THE EXHIBIT HALL:
3:00 P.M.–3:30 P.M.; 3:35 P.M.–4:05 P.M.; AND 4:10 P.M.–4:40 P.M.
