The Senate today voted to invoke cloture (end debate) on the third and final part of the Housing
Foreclosure Act (H.R. 3221) by an 84 - 12 vote. With this vote, the Senate is finally near
completion on its version of the legislation. Negotiations continue with the House on the few
differences that remain and we will have an update for you early next week on the status of these
negotiations. We remain confident that the Congress will pass the legislation by the end of the
month and send it to the President for his signature.
