The program awards grants annually to Oregon residents studying at
state-licensed cosmetology career schools. The program was established
with surplus licensing fees from Oregon´s practitioners prior to 1986.
In 2006-07, the individual grant award increased to $1,000 per recipient and the total amount of grant monies awarded since 1986 surpassed
one million dollars.
