Charlene completed the Certificate in Volunteer
Management at Vancouver Community College,
chaired the AVRBC Community Awareness
Committee and is Past President of AVRBC.

volunteers. Jenny Buday will take us through what
works in mentoring, coaching, corrective action,

volunteers.
Sandra Palmer is the Manager of Volunteer
Resources at Royal Columbian Hospital. She has
served on the Board of AVRBC for eight years,
currently as President.
Jenny Buday is the Coordinator of Volunteer
Resources for the City of Surrey. She serves as
the Regional Coordinator for AVRBC, and with the
Canadian Administrators of Volunteer Resources.

program.
Managing volunteers takes skill,
experience and knowledge, but our
profession is often overlooked in the
hierarchy of our organizations. Learn
how to promote your role in your
organization, and how we can work together to
develop our professional status.
Beth Cougler Blom is Manager of Training and
Outreach at Volunteer Victoria, and has been
Regional Co-Representative for AVRBC South
Island since 2006. Beth is completing her Master of
Education (Adult Education) at UBC and has a
Certificate in Volunteer Management from
Conestoga College in Ontario.
Clare O'Kelly is Manager of Volunteer Resources at
Burnaby Hospital, and Vice President of the AVRBC.
Clare served as AVRBC Conference Chair in 2009
and as BC's provincial rep for Canadian
Administrators of Volunteer Resources. She is mother
of five, loves gardening and is an avid reader.

learned from more than 10 years coordinating
volunteers at fairs, festivals & fundraisers.

Board Director as well as Marketing Chair for the
Canadian Administrators of Volunteer Resources
2011 National Conference in Vancouver.
