Overview
Kolkata, known as the intellectual seat of India and
formerly the capital of British India, is the country’s
third most populous city today. Geographically the
city is located on the banks of river Ganga and just
180 kms away from the Gangetic delta. Covering
almost 1,480 square kilometres (sq.km) the city has
a population of over 14 million.
As a financial hub the city is expanding itself embracing a huge influx of population from neighbouring states. In the last two
decades the city has seen a rapid change in retail as well as real estate developments and social infrastructure. Although the
city saw an industrial dormancy after Independence, in the last two decades the city has witnessed significant economic
development driven by the boom in the IT/ITeS sectors. Today the city is the trading and financial hub of Eastern India as
well the North Eastern states. It is also seeing the entry of many corporate players from various sectors like IT, BFSI,
Healthcare, Hospitality, Real estate and Education.
Over the years the city has also embraced the concept of modern retail along with traditional retail. It has become one of
the prime destination for many national and international retailers. The retail hub of the city is located in the Central
Business District (CBD) covering Lindsay Street , Park Street and Camac Street. This particular zone is one of the prime
main street locations, accommodating major international brand stores along with the local brands.

Elgin road, theatre road
Elgin Road and Theatre Road are the emerging main streets of the city, accommodationg some of the high end retail stores
and malls. Elgin Road boasts of having the city’s one of the most prime shopping mall named Forum. Its has good composition

SOUTH CITY MALL
South City Mall, is the most successful Mall. It is one of its kind due to its sheer size (1million sqft). It is the only Mall that caters

City Centre I is located in the central part of Salt Lake City, and totals 350,000 sqft . The mall has an unique mix of local,
