History Course overview – Year 9 Autumn Term Britain 1750 – 1900 The development of trade,colonization, industrialisation Technology and its impact on the UK and the wider World Spring Term 20th Century- World WW1- causes and consequences Students will also look at how WW1 impacted on people living in Britain. Summer Term th 20 Century World Students will look at a range of key events and people in the 20th century. For example students will look at WW2, the holocaust, the Cold War, the assassination of JFK and the Civil Rights Movement in America in the 1950’s and 1960’s. How to help Always be prepared. Bring a pen, pencil, ruler and rubber to each lesson. A set of coloured pencils would also be a great help, especially for drawing diagrams, sketches and cartoons. Students who are in danger of not achieving their end of year target, will be asked to attend extra booster sessions, to help improve their key skills. Your child will be asked to structure paragraphs in a certain way, using PEEL. This could be practised at home.
