Orlando International Airport
Broad and Cassel serves as the Greater
Orlando Aviation Authority’s primary
counsel on its $1.1 Billion Capital
Improvement Program, which involves the
planning, design and construction of a new
airport Intermodal facility and automatic
people mover trams, including integration
of a high-speed rail line and terminal
station.
Jacksonville Transportation Authority
Broad and Cassel serves as General Counsel
to the Jacksonville Transportation Authority
(JTA), guiding JTA on its numerous
development and infrastructure projects,
including a new Compressed Natural Gas
Facility using a Public-Private-Partnership
(P3) delivery method.
Since our beginnings in Miami in 1946, Broad and Cassel's
lawyers have been actively involved in infrastructure and
transportation projects throughout Florida. Founders Shepard
Broad and Alvin Cassel were instrumental to the explosive
growth of South Florida, including the development of several
municipalities such as Bay Harbor Islands. In recognition of his
pre-eminent role, even today one of the principal causeways
linking Miami to the islands in Biscayne Bay and Miami Beach,
the Shepard Broad Causeway, bears our Founder's name.
For nearly 70 years the name Broad and Cassel has been linked
to transportation and infrastructure in Florida. As the State’s
population exploded from roughly 2.7 million in 1950 to
approximately 20 million today, many of its most important
transportation and infrastructure projects have involved Broad
and Cassel lawyers. Our attorneys have and currently serve as
general counsel to some of the largest transportation
authorities in the State, have served as chairs or board
members of various authorities, and are actively involved in the
public and private infrastructure and transportation sectors,
including public-private partnerships (P3s). Several of our
attorneys have an extensive international practice, with
infrastructure projects located throughout South America,
including toll road concessions, airports, power plants and other
major works.
Our lawyers possess great experience in all the various aspects
of project development, commencing with planning, including:
■ real estate
■ land use and environmental issues
■ right-of-way acquisition
■ construction
■ financing (including public financing)
■ government affairs
■ policy development
■ procurement and contracting
■ private-public partnerships (P3s)
■ project implementation
■ dispute resolution
