Dear Elle,
I appreciate the opportunity you gave me of not only expanding my writing portfolio by
completing a challenging yet rewarding media kit project but, more importantly, the
chance to help the Elle Danielle Photography brand grow.
The elements in this media kit are designed to do just that: expand the already promising
brand of Elle Danielle Photography and Ellements consulting services. The documents
included in the kit are targeted to appeal to a variety of outlets, ranging from digital and
print media, magazines, blogs and websites, which will spark even more interest to
potential bridal and consulting clients. My goal in constructing this media kit was to
create writing pieces and other materials that you will be able to send to outlets
throughout the southern region, even nationwide when it comes to Ellements, but also
alert the local Auburn community of all of the great services that you offer. Enclosed you
will find the following:
- Company Backgrounder: This tells future clients about the history of your
business while also highlighting what sets you apart from other
photographers.
- Biography: Provides clients with facts about your education, personal family
life and includes information about your transition from being an attorney to a
photographer.
- News Releases: The first news release is perfect to send to local media outlets
on the Plains since it introduces Elle Danielle Photography to the Auburn
family. The other one goes into detail about the specifics of your Ellements
consulting services for photographers and creatives.
- Photos and Captions: These show clients the types of moments and memories
you are capable of capturing on camera.
- Blog Post: These five PR tips for photographers will show you how you can
apply some simple yet useful public relations tactics to help your company.
After reading all of components in this media kit, potential clients will be picking up the
phone or will be racing to their computers to start drafting an email to hire you. Please
find my contact information above, and do not hesitate to reach me if you have any
questions or comments about any of the materials included.
Thank you,
Kyle Van Fechtmann
2 COMPANY BACKGROUNDER
Elle Danielle Photography values the customers’ needs first and foremost by
building strong professional lasting relationships with every client, while capturing
unscripted moments that will last forever. Elle Danielle has always had a passion for
helping families and after working at a law firm as an attorney for five years practicing
mainly in family law, she shifted her passion to helping families in a more powerful way.
After constantly dealing with families hurting each other in court, Danielle left the firm
and began helping families by being able to pause moments and memories.
Although Elle Danielle Photography began as a way for her to document her son
growing up, Danielle realized that she could still have the power helping families, but
could do so through a camera lens. Ever since only taking photos of friends’ kids, Elle
Danielle Photography has grown tremendously throughout the South with countless
weddings, engagements and family portrait sessions. Danielle looks to build a connection
with each and every client she works with, which then effortlessly creates timeless
images that each client can treasure forever.
The future of Elle Danielle Photography is brighter than ever now that Danielle is
bringing her expertise and knowledge of law to her business with the new Ellements
focus. Ellements offers mentoring and consulting services, from an experienced attorney,

BIOGRAPHY
While growing up in Pulaski, Virginia, Elle Danielle always had a map of what
she wanted to do with her life. She set a goal to become an attorney after graduating from
law school. After graduating from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a degree
in political science, graduating from Cumberland School of Law, passing the bar and then
being hired at a law firm, Danielle followed her track and accomplished that goal of
becoming an attorney. After initially practicing law at the large firm of Carr Allison, she
decided to switch her focus to family law because of her passion for helping families.
Danielle’s passion for families translates directly to her own family, which
includes a loving husband and a son. After pursuing her dream and being at a law firm for
five years, Danielle felt it was best to walk away from the firm since it was taking away
valuable time from her own family. Her son, Greyson, was born during her third year of
law school, and she began to struggle with the balance of being a mom and fulfilling the
law firm’s expectations in terms of billing hours. After leaving the firm, she began to
develop a passion for capturing moments of her son growing up. She did this by
developing a great photography talent, which led to Elle Danielle Photography.
Transitioning from being a full-time attorney to full-time photographer has given
Danielle the gift of being able to control her own work schedule, which gives her time to

fulfill all of her duties as a mother, such as being able to watch every single one of
Greyson’s soccer games and never missing one of his field trips.
When it comes to her style as a photographer, Danielle aims to develop successful
working relationships with each client to make sure each wedding, engagement or
lifestyle portrait session is as real as it can be. With a shooting style that is both
photojournalistic and editorial, her focus is on capturing unscripted moments that will
allow the subjects in each photograph to relive that candid moment forever. Her work has
been featured in outlets, such as Munaluchi Bridal, Birmingham Weddings and
Celebrations and Essence.com.
Elle Danielle Photography is at an exciting time since it not only continues to
grow with more and more bookings, but Danielle is looking forward to use her
knowledge and skills in law to open up the next aspect of her business: Ellements.
Through her mentoring and expertise, Ellements offers consulting services to help other
photographers and creative industry professionals grow their own businesses. Danielle is
an example of an entrepreneur who loves their work and since she puts her passion and
effort into it strategically, Elle Danielle Photography continues to thrive and grow.

FIVE PR TIPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
By: Kyle Van Fechtmann
Whether people realize it or not, public relations can benefit any profession,
brand, person or organization. Since public relations manages the spread of information
between an individual or an organization with the public, public relations practitioners
are valued to help establish and maintain those important relationships with that
individual’s or organization’s target audience. Public relations can also be described as
how one is viewed by the public, which is why Bill Gates once said, “If I was down to
my last dollar, I’d spend it on public relations.” Just like everyone else, photographers
can indeed benefit from practicing effective public relations tactics. Photographers’
products (images) have the ability to spread like rapid fire, which is why it is important
for them to know how to appeal to the public. Here are five simple but useful public
relations tips for photographers:
1. People are interested in people: Especially when looking at images, the average
person often immediately looks for the human element in the photo. Elle Danielle
Photography thrives off of capturing images of people, so as long as you continue
to focus on taking photos of memorable moments of people, you’ve already got
this element down.
2. Be consistent: Being consistent can go a long way in life and being consistent
creates a positive relationship with the public. If you are always consistent when
interacting with current clients and potential clients, that will reflect positively on
your business and will lead to clients referring others to you, which leads to new

and more clients.
3. Utilize social media: Social media is popular and is only going to get more
popular at this rate. Simply keeping your fans and followers updated on all of
your social media platforms is not only important for keeping current followers
informed about what’s going on with Elle Danielle Photography, but it can always
lead to more exposure through the power of sharing and likes.
4. Build a community: Using social media is a given nowadays in our internet-savvy
world, which is why you must take it to the next step by building a community on
your social media accounts. The easiest way to build a community with your
followers is by interacting with them, whether that’s giving them feedback to their
comments, answering any questions they may have or simply thanking them for
their kind words that they left on a certain photo.
5. Treat every customer like you would like to be treated: Although this may seem
like a no-brainer or elementary, this golden rule is truly important in any
profession. If a customer is treated with respect that ultimately leads to customer
delight, which is when a customer or client receives good service or a favorable
experience. Delighted customers help attract new customers.

“I give direction but I want it to be more real,” Danielle said. “I want them to be
booking me and not just a photographer who is at an X price point.”

importance of treating each client with respect.

making them feel like they’re my only client.”
Although Danielle is looking forward to being in Auburn where there are plenty
of opportunities, such as family portraits and graduation portrait sessions, she is most
excited to continue her passion of photographing weddings. Danielle enjoys building
