This project will require partial closure of the
intersection, and traffic shifts using temporary
widening. Alternate routes to reach downtown
Marquette from US-41 will be available, and
motorists are encouraged to use Grove Street
and Washington Street to access the downtown
area during construction. US-41 through-traffic
will be maintained.

This project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

The Michigan Department of Transportation
(MDOT) will be constructing a modern roundabout at the intersection of US-41 and Front
Street in the city of Marquette.

Long-term Benefits
This project will improve safety at this
intersection, reduce motorist delay, improve
ride quality, and extend the pavement service
life by 25 years.
MDOT's 2010 road and bridge program supports the creation of jobs, growth of the economy, preservation of the environment and the
safety and security of the transportation system.
