“ Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them” said William Shakespeare .
Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram, the founder Chairman of Vinayaka Missions is that one person who has achieved greatness, which is incredible. Having started in a very modest way in the year 1981, he has created the magic of setting up of 26 colleges in the country -a feat which could only match that of a government or one from a royal lineage. But, this great man had come from a very humble background.
How could this happen? The answer is just one – the splendid personality called
Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram.
He had the Vision in his Mind and the Mission on Hand – to provide education to all the cross-sections of the society. His approach was simple but the results were grand and mystifying.
He did not just stop with India but spread the Vinayaka Missions’ tentacles to
Malaysia as well.
He was just not an educationist – he was a philanthropist and very spiritual at heart. Within the grandeur foundations that he had created, he was a simple person with a large heart – for the poor, weak and the needy.
His electrifying demeanour has cast its spell on so many, amongst all those who came into his fold – as employee, as student, and as any body.
We the members of VCBS, belonging to the family of Vinayaka Missions, feel the void created by this unique leader – on his breathing his last on the 25 th
March, 2014 on his march to the heavenly abode. He may have left his earthly body, but his spirit, his dreams, his vision, his mission and the direction will continuously guide all of us in the
Vinayaka Missions Family. He has been the role model for many and we as the Faculty of Management Studies and Faculty of Computer Applications at AVIT(VCBS), draw great power and strength from his experiences which have been shared amongst the students as well. No wonder, that our students have achieved great heights in their career. We shall continue to do this as our homage to this noble soul and great leader.
We pay our Homage to this great leader and pray “MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE”
