Children's Story
t- http:/iwww.yoUtube.com/watch?v=Q05DGnEio3w
Uncle Ricky, could you read us a bedtime story?
Please, huh, please?
Alright, you kids get to bed, I'll get the storybook
Y'all tucked in? Yeah, here we go
Once upon a time, not long ago
Where people wore pajamas and lived life slow
Where laws were stern and justice stood
And people were behavin' like they ought to good
There lived a little boy who was misled
By another little boy and this is what he said
Me and you Tike, we're gonna make some cash
Robbin' old folks and makin'the dash
Dave, the dope fiend shootin' dope
Who don't know the meaning of water nor soap?
He said, "I need bullets, hurry up, run"
The dope fiend rolled back a spankin' shot gun
He went outside but there were cops all oven
Then he dipped into a car, a stolen Nova
Raced up the block doin' 83
Crashed into a tree, near university
Escaped alive, though the car was battered
Rat-a-tat-tatered and all the cops scattered
Ran out of bullets and he still had static
Grabbed the pregnant lady and pulled out the
automatic
They did the job, monev came with ease
But one couldn't stop, it's like he had a disease
Point it at her head, he said the gun was full of
He robbed another and another and a sister and a brothe
Iead
Tried to rob a man who was a D.T. undercover
He told the cops, "Back off or honey here's dead"
Deep in his heart he knew he was wrong
The cop grabbed his arm, he started actin' erratic
So he let the lady go and he starts to run on
He said, "Keep still boy, no need for static"
Punched him in his belly and gave him a slap
Sirens sounded, he seemed astounded
But little did he know, the little boy was strapped
And before long the boy got surrounded
He dropped his gun so went the glory
The kid pulled outta gun, he said, "Why'd you hit me?"
And this is the way I have to end this story
The barrel was set straight for the cop's kidney
The cop got scared, the kid, he starts to figure
He was only one teen in a madman's dream
I'll do years if I pull this trigger
The cops shot the kid, i still here him scream
This ain't funny, so don't ya dare laugh
So he cold dashed and ran around the block
lust another case about the wrong path
Cop radios in to another lady cop
Straight and narrow or your soul gets cast
He ran by a tree, there he saw the sister
Goodnight
Shot for the head, he shot back but he missed her
Looked 'round good and from expectations
He decided he'd head for the subway stations
But she was coming and he made a left
He was running top speed till he was out of breath
Knocked and old man down and swore he killed him
Then he made his move to an abandoned building
Ran up the stairs up to the toP floor
Opened up a door, there guess who he saw
I know this story is reallY weird
Goodnight

behaviors cause with the law can help you see that you need to change. (Adapted from DSM-III-R
criteria.)

Scoring. Add up the check marks in the yes column for questions 13-22 and put the

you did not have three or more yes answers on the section before age 75, it may mean
that your offender behavior is completely connected to your alcohol and drug use. One
way to make sure is to review yaur yes answers on questions 13-22 and ask yourself if
these things always happened when you were trying to get alcohol or drugs, using
alcohol or drugs, or because you had been using alcohol or drugs recently. If alcohol
and drugs were not part of why you did these things, ask yourself what happened or
changed in your life that made you start doing them.

PROTECTORS AGAINST THE SET.UP
1.
Understand the definition of a professional and strive to act like one. Professional(as a
job approach)- communicating and acting in a manner that distinguishes a person of
skill and knowledge from an amateur. Professionalism is more than credentials; it is a
state of mind.
2.
Learn to recognize the steps to a set-up and take proper action; "Nip it in the bud"
3.
Understand that communication consists of a sender and a receiver; monitor
seemingly casual remarks as well as your responses.
4-

5.
Be in command of your area- manipulators seek insecurities and employees that lack
knowledge.
6.
Check the Central Registry or file to find out the criminal history of your clients.
7.
Know and follow procedures to avoid a "You/Me" situation. Remind client of the rule
or rules that apply.
8.
Let supervision know when you recognize the development of a set-up and let the
client know that you have recognized it and exposed it; secrets between two people
gives one or the other the advantage. File a report, placing copies in client's file as
well as one for self and supervisor.
9.
Take disciplinary action according to policy of agency when client's actions or
requests are obvious violation of rules.
10. Once a client goes so far as to blatantly request illegal favors, be careful not to upset
them at the initial request; they know what is illegal and if they risk and fear
incarceration - they may seek to harm you if you refuse. Use judgment; you may
have to buy time to get away from being alone with the client - then address the issue
by following the proper procedure.
