Summary:
The Director of SAI Training and Development provides leadership, resources, and consultation for
the college’s comprehensive effort for faculty, staff, and program development in relation to
completion initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures that the SAI Initiative recommendations for training are implemented
• Enables the integration of technology onto the curriculum by assuring that training
opportunities, incentives and rewards exist
• Promotes organizational effectiveness and effective management practices throughout each
campus
• Establishes annual SAI training and professional development goals; plans, directs and
reviews training development activity to meet goals
• Plans, develops and implements new programs and/or workshops in relation to completion
initiatives
• Hires, trains, develops performance expectations, coaches, disciplines, directs and evaluates
trainers and consultants in relation to completion initiatives
• Develops an annual report (calendar year) of activities for the Executive Director of SAI
• Assists in Grant Proposal preparation to expand program needs
• Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in an organization; to present information and
respond to questions from groups of faculty, staff and administration
• Ability to work collaboratively with SAI personnel and others within the training and
development team
• Knowledge of current developments/trends in completion initiatives
• Understanding of training and education principles
• Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of
responsibility
• Possess excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, customers and the
general public
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily.

Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field with three
(3) years of experience in training and development; or Bachelor’s degree in Human
Resources, Organizational Development or related field with seven (7) years of experience in
training and development
