Deadline for application and $15 check made out to Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance and filed with Annette Costar in 325 John D. Tickle Engineering Building: January, 29 2016. The application may be found at the link below under the link “For Senior Engineering Students”: http://www.tn.gov/commerce/article/arch-forms-and-downloads I will approve all applications and forward them to Nashville for review and approval. After you are approved by the State of Tennessee, you must also register with NCEES at the following link: http://www.ncees.org/ The test will be administered by the Pearson VUE testing center and you will schedule to take the test with them. You will be best prepared to take the exam during this time frame. You are advised not to delay taking the exam since your level of preparation will decay quickly following the preparation that you do for CE401. Grading. Grades for CE401 are weighted as follows: Online Homework 40%. Review of each topic area will be accomplished through on-line problems. These problems are available at the course website linked above. Due dates are indicated in the course schedule. There is a late penalty of 10% per day on any unworked problems after the due date until the problem credit is reduced to 60%. Problem credit remains at 60% until the end of the course. Problems must be answered correctly to receive credit. There is a 2% penalty on a problem for each incorrect guess. Final Exam 60%. The final exam is tentatively scheduled for Monday, April 11 from 5:00 to 8:30 in Perkins 208 and 209. It will consist of 60 multiple choice FE-style questions as specified below, with 3 minutes allowed for each problem. The exam is closed book except for the reference handbook. Exam policies: 1) the NCEES calculator policy will be enforced. An electronic version of the FE Reference Manual will be available on the computer you use to take the exam.
