COURSE AIM :
The aim of this course is to help you understand the roles, functions and application of Human Resource Management within contemporary New Zealand organizations.

(i) Procedural fairness, substantive justification, unfair dismissals and personal grievances (at least 1 of these aspects)
(ii) New Zealand legislative requirements (at least 1)

Students will critique compensation and rewards management and the relationship to performance management

(a) Compensation
Elements of compensation: based pay, benefits, and incentives (assess at least 1)
External and internal equities vs. perception of ‘pay equity” (assess at least
1)
(b) Recognition and Rewards management: Motivation (at least 1 theory), intrinsic and extrinsic rewards (at least 1)
