POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position:
Senior Adviser, International – Asia
Status :
Fixed Term Contract. Full time from October 2014 - end June 2017
Reports to:
Manager, International Special Projects and Cultural Exchange
Location:
Auckland or Wellington
Purpose:
The role is responsible for the project management and delivery of the Focus on
Asia programme of initiatives, developing strategic partnerships and providing
advice on funding decisions and future programmes.

Experience and Qualifications
Previous Experience
Proven experience in advisory and project management roles in the arts sector (preferably involving high
profile, international projects). Proven knowledge of the (north) Asian arts community is desirable
Skills & Knowledge
A high level of knowledge in the following areas:
 New Zealand arts sector
 Asian arts sector
 Project management/co-ordination skills
 Research and analytical skills
 Written and oral communication skills
 Assessment and funding processes
 Managing and monitoring budgets.
 Event management/co-ordination experience
 Design, communications and PR/media.
 Understanding of the principles and practise of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications for the work
of Creative New Zealand
