Description
The INFINITY HPS48 is a range of configurable indoor
DC plant systems utilizing standard flexible building
blocks to provide a high level of modularity.
The HPS48 comprises of standard cost effective modules / units each based around common parts to enable
system configuration between 600 Amps and 1600
Amps capacity within a single cabinet.
This results in competitive system solutions with flexibility to suit individual customer’s needs and short
lead times due to the use of standard parts.
The HPS48 utilises LINEAGE POWER 93% efficiency
CP rectifiers along with adaptive rectifier management
software to provide a highly reliable DC power system
with minimal operational costs.
Correct charging of the batteries with respect to the
ambient temperature is controlled adjusting the float
Voltage of the batteries with respect to the temperature
measured at the battery via thermal probes.
Mid battery string Voltage measurement is available as
an option.
DC Power Configuration
DC power system options are available with a total
capacity of 600A, 800A, 1200A and 1600A including
system redundancy and battery recharge capability
within a single cabinet.
The IMS48 incorporates the LINEAGE POWER Galaxy
Pulsar Plus system controller, providing monitoring
and control of system components including rectifiers,
converters, and distribution modules via a multi-drop
RS485 digital communications bus.
The DC power system comprises of: AC distribution
and rectifiers grouped for modular configuration; DC
Distribution Units (DCU) rated at 600, 800 and 1600
Amps configurable with breaker or HRC fuse options;
800A or 1600A battery management panels incorporating HRC fuse disconnects and Low Voltage protection as well as a sophisticated System controller with
web access for complete system and site management.
System status, parameters, settings, and alarm thresholds can be viewed and configured from the controller’s front panel display.
Additional contactors are optional for non essential
load disconnection in the case of AC mains failure
thereby extending the backup for essential loads.
Assignment and configuration of alarm inputs and
output relays can be performed from a laptop computer or by remote access through a network connection
to the World Wide Web (internet) or your enterprise
network (intranet).
AC distribution options include main incoming supply
isolation, surge protection and AC sub distribution
depending on specific customer / site requirements.
Basic Operation
The INFINITY HPS48 Power System contains all necessary facilities for providing a positive Earthed DC supply to Telecommunications Equipment. This DC supply is backed up by batteries located on external
battery stands.
In normal operation the Power System rectifies the AC
mains and provides a positive Earthed DC supply to the
loads connected. When the AC-mains fail the loads
are fed from the connected batteries until the battery
voltage has reached a programmable level where the
batteries are disconnected to protect them from damage due to deep-discharge.
Optional contactors in the Power Distribution may disconnect load groups prior to reaching the LVD (Low
Voltage Disconnect) level.
Upon the reconnection of the AC mains supply the rectifiers will ramp up and supply the system loads while
also recharging the batteries.
All systems include the LINEAGE POWER Galaxy Pulsar Plus system controller providing sophisticated
monitoring and control of not only the DC power system but the capability for complete site management
with options for monitoring door alarms, smoke alarm,
fire suppression equipment control, generator fuel levels as well as customised alarm options.
Communication with the LINEAGE POWER Galaxy
Pulsar Plus system controller may be via front panel
controls, local connection of a lap top or Ethernet
interface – TCP/IP, FTP, Telnet, HTTP, SMTP support.
DC power is provided utilising LINEAGE POWER 93%
efficiency CP rectifiers with individual rectifier capacities of 1800W, 2000W and 2725W.

The LINEAGE POWER CP rectifiers are specifically
designed to operate as an integral part of a complete distributed power system. The high-density, front to-back
airflow rectifier is designed for minimal space utilization
and is highly expandable for future growth.
