CPS2000 Cabinet Power System
Temperature Hardened System
Input (Nominal): 90 Vac to 264 Vac (Autoranging)
Output (Nominal): -48 Vdc (up to 28.8 A) and Optional
50 VA Ringing Generator
The low-maintenance, outside-plant CPS2000
(Cabinet Power System) integrates advanced
technology in a modular system with multiple shelf
configurations for 480 mm (19 in.), 584 mm (23
in.), and optional ETSI mounting adapters. The
CPS2000 is ideally suited for today’s fast-growing
remote telecom applications, particularly those in
harsh environments.
Wide Temperature Range
The CPS2000 is a high-reliability system
incorporating temperature hardened-electronics. It
is suited for use in remote applications at an
extremely wide temperature range, –40 °C to +75
°C (–40 °F to +167 °F) with fan-assisted cooling, or
–40 °C to +50 °C (–40 °F to +122 °F) with natural
convection cooling.
Multiple Outputs
The multiple power bus architecture supports
applications requiring –48 V and ringing voltage,
which can eliminate the need for separate power
plants.
Multiple Configurations
Both shelf assemblies are available in the
following configurations:

Rectifier plant with four power module positions
■
Ringer-rectifier plant with up to three rectifiers
and two ringing generators
■
Ringer-only plant with up to six 50 VA outputs
The single-shelf assembly, equipped with plug-in
modules, is 133 mm (5.25 in. or 3U) high and 305
mm (12 in. deep, and can accommodate the
following:

50 VA, 100, 80, 75 Vrms and 20 Hz or 25 Hz
ringing generators (half-width power module)

Monitor and Control Unit (MCU) or Alarm and

72 mV/°C. Optionally, for battery

charge is boosted by 72 mV/°C.

fuse outputs are available on the
primary bus. Nine of the outputs
are connectorized and rated for
up to 10 A each and the other
five terminal block outputs are
rated for up to 15 A each.
Economical alternative to MCU
provides plant alarm and control
functions; Model ES447 ACU
provides test points for reading
and adjusting plant voltage.
The ringer only shelf utilizes the
ES490 control unit.

1. The bulk output distribution for the 19 in. combination ringer and rectifier shelf consists of a single, double hole lug, 48 V output,
and one connectorized, electronically protected ringer output.
