They can also begin to participate in faculty-sponsored research projects as early as the summer of their freshman year. CAMP provides monetary support to undergraduate students in the form of research stipends for research conducted under the direction of a faculty member. The Edmondson Fellowship Summer The MORE Program aims to Program is an educational opportunity increase the participation of undergraduate engineering students for high school seniors and in faculty/graduate student research undergraduate college students activities and to encourage students interested in the medical sciences and exposure to laboratory medicine to pursue advanced degrees in engineering. and research. MURALS aims to encourage students to further their education beyond the baccalaureate by conducting research with faculty mentors and participating in program activities. Participants also engage in academic seminars, preparatory courses, tutoring, special advising and local and national conferences. Participants attend weekly academic seminars and GRE preparation during the academic year. During the summer, eligible participants engage in 8 weeks of research (minimum 30 hours) and 2 weeks of GRE preparation The President's Undergraduate Fellowship Program (PUF) supports undergraduate students doing research or creative projects under the guidance of UC Davis faculty members. Past projects have involved laboratory research, field studies, survey research, film production, design and creation of art elements, music composition, fine arts performances, travel to library or research collections, and many other endeavors. UC Davis stands as one of the nation's premiere institutions in computational and quantitative biology: the number and quality of researchers who work at this interface cannot be equalled at any other single institution. Many of these scientists value undergraduates as junior partners in research. We encourage you to seek out opportunities to apply your new skills in quantitative biology and bioinformatics by doing undergraduate research in the area most appropriate to your interests. The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program (SURF) supports undergraduate students doing research or creative projects under the guidance of UC Davis faculty members. Past projects have involved laboratory research, field studies, survey research, film production, design and creation of art elements, music composition, fine arts performances, travel to library or research collections, and many other endeavors. TSFP students conduct laboratory and field research and/or science teaching internships, while participating in weekly seminars, and learning to present their work orally and in writing. Are enrolled in a University of California undergraduate degree program in the physical, life, or computer sciences; engineering; or mathematics. TARGET GROUP Disadvantaged students Economically disadvantaged students All students whose parents did not graduate from college, or underrepresented students. Only open to students who plan to apply to Ph.D. programs. All students All students Educationally/economically disadvantaged community college transfer students. We especially encourage underrepresented students to apply. Have experienced situations or conditions which have adversely impacted your advancement in Science, Engineering, or Mathematics (SEM) study, such as absence of a family member who received a fouryear college degree; or graduation from a high school with poor financial or curricular support.
