Greetings from the faculty and staff of the Niagara College Pre-Health Sciences (PHS) - University Program! NiagaraCollege.ca/phsu I would like to offer some information about our PHS - University program. It is our hope that your upcoming academic year provides you with a solid foundation to help you achieve your career goals. Our PHS - University program will provide you with the opportunity to gain acceptance into various health-related programs taught at the university level including, but not limited to: Nursing (Collaborative R.N. Program) Biological Sciences Chemistry Neuroscience Math Physics Taking the PHS - University program does NOT mean that you will be automatically guaranteed entry into a university. Also please note that some university programs may require additional courses, certificates, or licenses in addition to their standard admission requirements. We strongly encourage you to contact the Admissions department of your future university of interest to ensure such requirements will be met upon graduation. Courses in this program are taught at an advanced level, and you will be asked to use math skills in many of your science classes. Resources and extra assistance with English, Science, and Math courses are available through weekly tutorials and drop-in sessions with faculty. Take full advantage of these resources to help you with assignments and test preparation. Some students who choose the PHS – University program seek entry to college programs, such as Paramedic or Practical Nursing (P.N.). Students are encouraged to check with the Admissions Office of the college you seek to enter to confirm their practice and policy. The PHS – University option is NOT given extra consideration for entry to programs at Niagara College.
