Project Management
The Mitel® service portfolio offers a complete range of advanced
services designed to ensure that you always get the best return on
investment in communications infrastructure and applications. Mitel
services are delivered by our Professional Services team, a center of
excellence for Mitel and other manufacturers’ products and solutions.
Project Management is critical to the successful implementation of any new voice
converged solution or major upgrade. Mitel’s Project Management group has many
years of experience implementing large and complex Mitel based solutions. As active
corporate members of the Association of Project Management (APM) in the UK,
and the Project Management Institute (PMI) in the US and Canada, each project is
managed to industry best practice processes. The Mitel Project Management group
is committed to delivering projects to clients based on the core principles of quality,
time, and cost.
A proven project management methodology cuts project implementation timescales,
improves performance, and creates consistency by creating and establishing
robust project management processes and methods. All Mitel projects are delivered
through our own best practice measurable project phases and Mitel is flexible
enough to compliment any customer processes.
By monitoring all projects through a corporate PMO, Mitel brings costs under control,
obtains effective management decision making information, reduces delivery
timescales and risk, and benefits from promptly scalable project management by
supporting your project people with specialists.
In order to ensure a successfully delivered solution, all
Mitel installation projects require either a full Project
Management service such as Premium or Standard
Project Management, or a remotely delivered Project
Management service or Project Co-ordination service.
Key Features
Mitel has a large selection of Project Managers and Project
Co-ordinators with many years of experience in both local
and global communications projects.
In the UK, all Mitel Project Management staff are Prince 2
qualified and work to APM best practice standards. In the
US and Canada, Project Managers are PMP qualified and
work to PMI best practice standards.
All Mitel Projects are supported by a Project
Management Office (PMO) offering support, guidance,
and documentation.
Mitel Project Management capabilities can be integrated
with the customer’s project management to support
complex deployments / architectures or application
intensive solutions.
Mitel has an excellent track record in delivering medium
to large complex projects, on time and to specification.
Mitel Project Management experience and capabilities
extend beyond Mitel Networks products and services.
Project Management Service
A typical Project Management service comprises the
following elements:
• Engaging with Mitel sales and pre-sales resources
to ensure that customer requirements are clearly
specified, documented, and focused on the operational
needs of the customer

• Ensuring that the agreed Statement of Work
(SoW) captures all of the customer responsibilities
and Mitel deliverables so all parties are clear about
the deliverables and scope of the project
• With the exception of Remote Project
Management, on site project meetings such as the
project kick-off meeting, any mid project progress
meetings, and project close out and review meetings*
• Project Management of third-party product
supplied by Mitel as part of a new system order
• Project Management of customer sourced thirdparty equipment
• Creation of appropriate project documentation,
such as:
- Project Plan
- Project Schedule
- Risk and Issues Management Plan
- Meeting minutes
- Site documentation
- Health and safety
- Method statements
- Project status reports
- Acceptance Test Plans
- Project sign-off
* Project meetings are dependant on the number of days of project
management purchased.
Project Co-ordination Service
In addition to Project Management, Mitel offers a Project
Co-ordination service which is delivered remotely. This
service does not include site visits and is delivered through
project co-ordination staff or a System Implementation
Specialist based out of one of Mitel’s regional office. This
provides a basic level of support, securing engineering
resource, input into client supplied project documentation
scheduling, and administrative input.
