This course is designed for people starting a small business or working in a junior accounts office role. You need to be
comfortable with numbers e.g. percentages, addition and subtraction. Manual Book-keeping is a mainstay of many small
businesses as the selling of goods and services needs to be recorded correctly to meet VAT and tax requirements.
This course will introduce you to the correct procedures needed to achieve this. Assessment is by a short practical exam
covering the major topics discussed and practised during the course. After successful completion, you may wish to move
onto the Computerised Accounts course or the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting to further your understanding.

Do you need to learn how to run computerised accounts for small businesses? Then this course is ideal. You must know
how to use a computer and mouse. Before joining this course, it is advised that you attend the introduction course to Sage
or have some experience in the computerised accounts process. This City & Guilds Level 1 course covers many aspects of
accounting such as setting up customer and supplier records (with their opening balances), setting up transactions, and the
preparation of final accounts. To test your skills at the end of the course, you will take a simple short examination,
performing those routines you have learned. Once completed, you could move onto the AAT Level 2 Certificate in

CISCO CCNA Discovery 1
The Cisco CCNA® Discovery course teaches you the skills needed to obtain entry-level home network installer jobs.
Networking for Home and Small Businesses is the first of four modules leading to the Cisco CCNA Discovery qualification.
The curriculum provides foundational networking knowledge, practical experience, opportunities for career exploration
and soft-skills development to help you prepare for an entry-level career in IT and networking. It will also help you develop
some of the skills needed to become a network technician, computer technician, cable installer and help desk technician.

CISCO CCNA Discovery 2
The Cisco CCNA®® Discovery 2 course prepares you for the job of network technician and helps develop the additional
skills required for roles such as computer technicians and help desk technicians. Working at a Small-to-Medium Business or
ISP is the second of four modules leading to the Cisco qualification. This module provides a basic overview of routing and
remote access, addressing and security. The final chapter helps you prepare for the CCENT certification exam. You could
progress onto the CISCO CCNA Discovery 3 course. Please note the fee is £450 for each module.
CISCO CCNA Discovery 3
The Cisco CCNA®® Discovery 3 course Introducing Routing and Switching in the Enterprise familiarises you with the
equipment applications and protocols installed in enterprise networks, with a focus on switched networks, IP Telephony
requirements and security. Hands-on exercises, including configuration, installation and troubleshooting reinforce your

CISCO CCNA Discovery 4
This course is the last of the four modules leading to the Cisco CCNA Discovery qualification. This course introduces you
to network design processes using examples; a large enterprise network and a medium-sized company network. You will

CISCO CCNA Exploration 1 Network Fundamentals
Exploration 1 introduces you to the networking field. ‘Networking Fundamentals’ is the first of four modules leading to the
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification. The course focuses on network terminology and protocols, local
area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), Open System Interconnection (OSI) models, cabling, cabling tools,
routers, router programming, Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and network standards. You could progress onto
CISCO Exploration 2 CCNA Networking course. Please note the fee is £450 for each module.
CISCO CCNA Exploration 2 Routing Protocols & Concepts
This is the second of four CCNA modules leading to the Cisco certification. ‘Exploration 2 Routing Protocols & Concepts’
focuses on initial router configuration, Cisco IOS Software management, routing protocol configuration, TCP/IP and access
control lists (ACLs). You will develop skills on how to configure a router, manage Cisco IOS Software, configure routing
protocols and create access lists controlling access to the router. You could progress onto CISCO Exploration 3 CCNA
Networking course. Please note the fee is £450 for each module.
CISCO CCNA Exploration 3 LAN Switching & Wireless
CCNA 3 focuses on advanced IP addressing techniques (Variable Length Subnet Masking (VLSM)), intermediate routing
protocols (RIP v2, single-area OSPF, EIGRP), command-line interface configuration of switches, Ethernet switching, Virtual
LANs (VLANs), Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP). You could progress onto CISCO CCNA
Exploration 4 course. Please note the fee is £450 for each module.
CISCO CCNA Exploration 4 Accessing the WAN
This is the last of the four modules. CCNA 4 focuses on Routing and Routing Protocols; you will study advanced IP
addressing techniques (Network Address Translation (NAT), Port Address Translation (PAT) and DHCP), WAN technology
and terminology, PPP, ISDN, DDR, Frame Relay, network management and introduction to optical networking. Please note

This course is the recognised qualification for people working in the Childcare sector with children and young people aged
0-19 years. The qualification currently has three pathways: Early Learning & Childcare, Social Care and Learning
Development & Support Services. It will cover the skills required by an Early Years Practitioner. Students must be 18 or over
to enrol and you must have at least 1 year’s current experience working with children or young people and/ or have an
existing Level 2 qualification. You will need to have a very good level of English and be employed for a minimum of 14
hours per week in a childcare setting at the start of, and for the duration of, this course as you will be assessed in the
workplace. Our experienced tutors will aim to help improve your employment prospects and enable you to work in a
variety of childcare settings. You may wish to progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children’s Care, Learning
