LOWER MANASLU TREK
“Explore The Virgin Land Of Original Kingdom Of Nepal”
Introduction
You better call it off-the-beaten
beaten trail as this trail is less treaded by foreign tourist. This so far is the reason that you will be
able to observe the needy village in the sense that they are educationally backward, people here face difficulty in having
safe drinking water supply, the people don’t know much about the importance of having safe kitchen,
kitchen clean toilet etc. To
talk about the modern sign of civilization like internet, email, computer
computer is just beyond their reach.
The itinerary as attached below is formed with the help of the local active member who is trying their best to promote the
area forr tourism so that the local people can get the benefits directly out of it by making their village home
home-stay destination.
As of now the region as in the itinerary is not so remote and you see no tourist at all. During your trek you will not be goi
going
above average 3000m and hence there is very less chance of getting altitude sickness if you are trekking for the first time.
The visit to model village of Sirubari before the trek is to show how and what an ideal village look like. You can see how
well it is developed
veloped itself into an ideal village that has all the means of communication, the people know more about the
sanitation, drainage, education and boasts of well stocked health post. It's like every individual in the village is well aware
awa
of the importance off keeping their culture and tradition intact in the course of their search to turn their village well
maintained and developed in every aspects of village life. You will have chance to home stay here in any of the welcoming
host villager. In fact you can be
e treated like the family members by eating together with them if you have time you can walk
together in their field and other daily chores to make you understand how daily village life goes on.
All the villages that are incorporated in this itinerary are accessible and we know the locals in the area and therefore we
can get good co-operation
operation in the operation of the whole project. Few villages in the itinerary like Barpak are well developed
one and you can have home-stay
stay there. But other villages during trekking
trekking do not have the facility to welcome home-stay
home
perhaps due to
o congested room and therefore you will be having our own camping staff with tents and cooking crews.
Wherever there is possible you will home-stay
home
but in other places you will set up your
our tent.
In the whole trek you walk past the villages inhabited by the mixed communities of Brahmin, Chhettri, Newar, Tamang,
Sherpa, Ghale and Gurung at the lower part and as you trek further you will find Tamang villages with monastery and also
Sherpa people living together with them in harmony. And you walk past villages that are completely inhabited by Gurung
and some other are inhabited by Ghale community only which means you will have chance to see the different culture of
the different communities that
at come across
acros during the trek.
In terms of trek grade it's easy to moderate having to walk up and down and on the ridge slope at the higher point with
good views of Himalayas. Some section of the trail are rudimentarily made, one section passes through the landslide area
where there is copper mining and in such areas close attention should be made while walking on the trail. The places like
Sirandada, Barpak and Gorkha, old capital will be the highlights of our trek.

The village is a short drive and walk from Pokhara, the major tourist centre for the Annapurna region. It is reached from the
road to Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha. You will be welcomed into the community and invited to stay in the home of
one of the village families. The accommodation is simple but comfortable with good bedding and clean toilet facilities. The
food is delicious and you will be eating as one of the family. Each night there will be entertainment provided by the
community. This will be in the form of traditional Gurung and Nepali dancing and singing, you can join in if you like
like.
As the locals are all Buddhist, the village gompa, a simple but beautiful temple, will be a feature of your stay. There will be
the chance to get a blessing from the resident lama before you leave. Just because you are not trekking it doesn't mean
that you won't see the mountains.
ns. An easy walk above the village is a viewpoint at Thumro. At 2300 metres this is the
highest point south of Pokhara and the views on a clear day are spectacular.
Spread before you are rolling foothills dotted with isolated farming communities and crowned

Tapai lai Hardik Swagat Cha’ - Welcome from our heart to the mighty Himalaya
Trekking In the Himalaya
The Himalaya mountain regions provide some of the finest trekking routes available anywhere. Within the Himalaya,
Nepal’s mountainous, hilly and lowland Terai regions offer some of the most specta
spectacular
cular trekking in the world. Treks vary
from high altitude routes some of which visit base camps used by mountaineering expeditions to easy short treks within the
Kathmandu Valley and lower hill country where you’ll travel through pretty villages, subtropi
subtropical lowlands, vast meadows
and forests, fast flowing rivers, deep canyons and even the cold and barren regions at the feet of the great mountain
peaks. The views change with the seasons, with different stages of planting and harvesting cycles in the villages
villa
and
valleys and the brilliant display of wild flowers in spring and autumn.
Trekking with us means an adventure walking holiday, with a small group of other trekkers, led by an experienced and
professional English speaking local guide. We use professionally trained and experienced local Sherpa guides or Sirdars
on our treks, tours and expeditions and are totally confident in their ability and experience. Local guides are integral to
providing you with the best travel experience. Not only can they share local knowledge and insights, at the same time as
you travel you are contributing to the local economy and supporting local communities at the same time as you travel.
Whatever route you choose, you’ll be sure to meet local people and enjoy stun
stunning
ning landscapes as you walk at your own
pace through well established village trails. Whilst some of the popular trekking trails are used by climbing expeditions on
their approach marches, most have been used for hundreds of years by the local Nepalese for everyday travel and trade.
Teahouse Trekking
On the more popular treks in Nepal, particularly in the Everest, Langtang and the entire Annapurna regions, enterprising
villagers have built teahouse lodges, similar to European style alpine lodges offering simple
s
but comfortable
accommodation and food. We offer a selection of single/twin sharing rooms in the best available lodges run to a high level
of service. We also supply a four season sleeping bag and cotton liner free of charge on our teahouse treks. Hire

key items if needed can be arranged in advance. During the trek you’ll have 3 meals a day, with a mixture of European and
Asian style dishes and large portions. Soft drinks, sweets, mineral water and alcohol are not included.
Fully Provisioned Camping Style Trekking
This type of trek is staffed by a full Sherpa crew including a Sirdar (head man), cook and assistants. Porters, yaks, horses
or mules carry your main baggage. It is the Sherpa crew’s job to perform all the camp work, from setting up to providing
freshly made meals, to leaving the site clean on departure. We provide twin share dome or A frame sleeping tents, a
kitchen tent, mess tent and toilet tent. We also provide tables, chairs or stools, lanterns/candles, thin sleeping mattresses
and all crockery and cutlery as well as a fully equipped kitchen set up. The Sherpa crew will cook, wash up, and provide
hot water for washing and tea and coffee at night and for your wake up call. Food is a mixture of Asian and Western
dishes, with lots off choice, freshly prepared. As with teahouse trekking you can expect 3 main meals each day. Soft drinks,
sweets, mineral water and alcohol are not included. A few of our teahouse treks involve crossing high passes and
necessitate camping for a couple of nights.
ghts. We provide full camping services for these nights including providing four
season sleeping bags.
Our Grading System
In Nepal, the trails often zigzag with plenty of ascents and descents and it is better to think in terms of hours spent walking
walki
ratherr than miles covered. A typical day’s walking is from five to seven hours with a number of ascents and descents. This
includes a one hour lunch stop, a comfortable pace of walking and time to enjoy your surroundings. We use four grades for
our treks, intended
ended to give you a general sense of what to expect and to help you choose which adventure will suit you
best. Factors such as weather conditions, altitude, fitness level, experience, interests and how you feel on a particular day
all contribute to how easy
y or strenuous you find a trip. If you’re unsure of whether a trek is suitable for you just contact us
before making your booking.
Wish you have memorable time with us! Email: info@gurkhaencounters.com,
