MISSION STATEMENT
De Colores strives to build community,
both amongst ourselves and with our
Mexican sisters and brothers. Through
these relationships, we grow and learn
first-hand about issues of social justice,
immigration and poverty. We become
immersed in the culture and lived reality
of our Mexican neighbors while striving
to embrace their great spirit and faith.
We try to encompass our lives with the
great spirit of the people, build
relationships with others, and help
create a better world by living out our
Jesuit education of the whole person.
The Human Rights Coalition (HRC)
strives to strengthen the LMU
community’s commitment to live out the
school’s own mission statement of
“encouraging learning, the education of
the whole person, and the service of faith
and the promotion of justice.” The HRC
does not take this often confusing and
misunderstood LMU mission statement
lightly. Rather, the Human Rights
Coalition is committed to discovering
and living out this vision to its fullest by
becoming people for and with others,
especially for the poor, voiceless,
marginalized, and those most in need in
our midst. The Human Rights Coalition
students strive to integrate their faith
and justice through weekly theological
and social analysis reflection sessions
and concrete actions throughout campus
and the larger community including with
Passion Magazine, the SOA/WHINSEC
National Protest, Campus Prayer
services, and collaborative efforts with
the LMU Lions Garden, the Cesar Chavez
Worker Appreciation Luncheon, and
other activities.
We want to unite college republicans at
Loyola Marymount University in pursuit
of sharing our beliefs and engaging in
intellectual debate and inquiry. We want
to give students the opportunity to
become more aware of current issues
and ways to become more politically

Students for Labor and Economic Justice
is a club on campus that advocates for
worker’s rights and spreads awareness
on the injustices that can happen in the
workplace. Our club highly respects the
integral role that the LMU campus
workforce plays in the development and
sustainability of our university. We show
our gratitude for all of their
contributions to our community by
fostering relationships between the
workers and the administration,
students and faculty.
TWLOHA University Chapters is a
network of student organizations on
college and university campuses that
exist to embody the mission and vision of
To Write Love on Her Arms. Through
organized meetings and events, each
chapter will serve as a voice of hope,
inspiration, and support for students and
their surrounding communities. In
addition, TWLOHA – Loyola Marymount
University Chapter will serve the LMU
community as a resource for mental
health education, advocacy, and
empowerment. Doing so, this
organization will simultaneously utilize
the three prongs of the LMU mission
statement: the encouragement of
learning, the education of the whole
person, and the service of faith and
promotion of justice.
The mission of Underwings Praxis is
to promote justice-oriented
education for students at Loyola
Marymount University through a
