MONDAY: INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER PROGRAMMING & ROBOTICS
Understand the definition of Computer Programming & Programming language
Introduction to LOGO
Start of first project
Understand the definition of Robotics
Introduction to LEGO Mindstorms and LABVIEW
Build and program their first robot
TUESDAY: SETTING UP THE BASICS FOR A GREAT PROJECT
Recognize the expectations they should have regarding this course
Understand how the programming adventure is organized
Continue their exploration through LOGO
Fine-tune their first project/and or/start a new one
Understand what a Robot is and how the robotics adventure is organized
Continue their exploration through ROBOLAB
Fine-tune their first program and add new features
WEDNESDAY: COMBINING BEHAVIORS AND TEAMWORK
Understand what a Starter Programmer and Designer is
Recognize the difference between moving an object straight and turning it around
Continue their exploration through LOGO
Fine-tune their previous project and/or start a new one.
Understand why we do Robotics and the importance of being part of a TEAM
Continue their exploration through ROBOLAB
Fine tune their previous project and/or start the next one
THURSDAY: GOOD COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS AND SENSORS
Understand the importance of having good communication skills
Practice on how to edit their programs
Continue their exploration through LOGO
Fine-tune their previous project and keep adding new features
Understand what a sensor is and how the behavior of the robot is affected when using sensors
Continue their exploration through ROBOLAB
Attach a sensor to the robot and program it
FRIDAY: PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
Understand the importance of troubleshooting and prototyping a design
Preparing a final project
Continue their exploration through LOGO
Fine-tune their previous project to demonstrate it, at the end of the class this day
Understand what a variable is and how to control the output.
Continue their exploration through ROBOLAB
Fine-tune their final project to demonstrate it at the end of the class this day
