GAMEDAY MASCOT SWEEPSTAKES
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes open to legal US residents of Arizona, 18 years and older
only. Child entered must be between 6 and 12 years of age. Employees of Bashas’,
Arizona State University and The University of Arizona and each of their respective
parent companies, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates and advertising, promotional or
judging agencies and immediate family members and persons living in the same
household of such employees are not eligible to win.
2. HERE'S HOW TO ENTER: At participating Bashas’ stores beginning 9/14/09 and ending
11/15/09 - When you purchase two (2) 2-liters of any Coca-Cola product in a single
transaction with your Bashas’ Thank You Card an entry form will automatically print out
at checkout. Or, to enter without making a purchase, hand print your child’s name, their
age, street address, daytime phone numbers and your name on a plain piece of 3 x 5
inch paper. To have your child help Sparky at an ASU football game, mail your
completed entry to Sun Devil ISP Sports Network, Attn: Bashas’ Mascot Sweepstakes,
P.O. Box 872505, Tempe, AZ 85287. To have your child help Wilbur at an UA football
game, mail your completed entry to The University of Arizona, Attn: Bashas’ Mascot
Sweepstakes, 1 National Championship Drive, McKale Center Suite 255, Tucson, AZ
85721. Limit one entry per child per day. Each entry must be mailed separately in a
hand-addressed, stamped envelope. No photocopied or mechanically reproduced
entries will be accepted. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, illegible, incomplete,
damaged, misdirected or postage-due entries. All entries must be postmarked no later
than 11/16/09 and received no later than 11/18/09 to be eligible for the drawing. All
entries become the property of the Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned.
3. PRIZES: Nine (9) Grand Prizes (one per game) will be awarded, consisting of tickets for
four (4) to an ASU or UA 2009 Pac-10 home football game (for the winner, parents
and/or legal guardians), an official Bashas’ GameDay Mascot t-shirt and the opportunity
for the selected child to spend the 2nd Quarter of the game on the field with Sparky or
Wilbur and in-stadium recognition via the video board and public address
announcement. Estimated retail value $152 – no monetary value associated with the
on-field time with Sparky or Wilbur or recognition. Child must be 6 – 12 years of age at
time of utilizing prize. A parent or guardian must accompany minor on trip at all times.
Transportation to and from Sun Devil Stadium or Arizona Stadium, meals, parking and
other expenses not specifically mentioned herein are the winner's responsibility.
4. DRAWING: Prizewinners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible
entries received nine (9) days prior to each game. Entries must be received by ASU or
UA by 3:00 p.m. Arizona time on the drawing date indicated below to be eligible for each
drawing. The drawing will be conducted by a representative of ASU and UA. Sponsors
will notify potential winners by telephone. Sponsors will make three (3) attempts to
contact each potential winner via telephone within 48 hours from the time the judges
complete each drawing per the chart below. If Sponsors are unable to reach a potential
winner by telephone within 48 hours after a potential winner’s name is drawn, then that
potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate potential prize winner’s entry will be
drawn from all remaining eligible entries. Sponsors will not leave a message for a
potential winner on an answering machine. All decisions of the judges shall be final.
Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. One prize will be
awarded for each game. Limit one prize per family or household.
Random drawing for ASU football games will take place as follows:
1. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 9/24/09 for 10/3/09 vs. Oregon State
2. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 10/8/09 for 10/17/09 vs. Washington
3. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 10/22/09 for 10/31/09 vs. California
4. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 10/29/09 for 11/7/09 vs. USC
5. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 11/19/09 for 11/28/09 vs. Arizona
Random drawing for UA football games will take place as follows:
1. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 10/8/09 for 10/17/09 vs. Stanford
2. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 10/15/09 for 10/24/09 vs. UCLA
3. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 10/29/09 for 11/7/09 vs. Washington State
4. 4:00 p.m. Arizona time on 11/12/09 for 11/21/09 vs. Oregon
5. GENERAL TERMS: Grand Prizes must be utilized on dates specified by Sponsors,
which dates are subject to change. Sponsors reserve the right to award a prize of equal
or greater value in the event the published prize is unavailable. No substitution of prize
is offered, no transfer of prize to a third party is permitted and non-cash prizes may not
be redeemed for cash value. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law. All federal,
state and local laws and regulations apply. Prize recipient will be solely responsible for
paying all applicable federal, state and local taxes on prizes; if applicable winner may
receive an IRS Form 1099 for the retail value of the prize. No groups, clubs, newsletters
or organizations may reproduce or distribute any portion of these Official Rules to its
members. All entrants, as a condition of entry, agree to be bound by these Official Rules
and the decisions of the Sponsors, which shall be final and binding. If a prize winner
selects a minor (other than the winner’s child or ward) as a guest of the prize winner, the
minor must be accompanied by his/her parent/legal guardian who will become one of the
three (3) guests who may accompany the prize winner using one of the admission
tickets awarded to the prize winner.
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION/RELEASES: All winners, by acceptance of a prize, agree to
release Bashas’, Arizona State University and The University of Arizona and each of
their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates and advertising,
promotional or judging agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind
whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be
sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing
for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity or any typographical or
other error in these Official Rules or in the announcement or offering of any prize.
Sponsors make no representations or warranties of any kind concerning the
appearance, performance or safety of any prize awarded. The winner shall bear all risk
of loss or damage to prize after it has been delivered. Sponsors reserves the right to
cancel or suspend the sweepstakes if it is tampered with or corrupted in any manner
and, in the event of cancellation, prizes will be awarded via a random drawing from
amongst all eligible entries received as of the date of cancellation. Each Grand Prize
winner and his/her guest (or the parent/legal if a guest is a minor) must sign an Affidavit
of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release. Except where prohibited by law, winners
must consent to the use of their name, voice, picture or other likeness without
compensation for promotional purposes in all media as determined by the Sponsors.
7. WINNERS' LIST: For a list of the major prize winners, send a self-addressed stamped
envelope before 11/28/09 to ASU at Sun Devil ISP Sports Network, Attn: Bashas’
Mascot Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 872505, Tempe, AZ 85287. Or, to UA at The University
