GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Maintenance / Custodian position, under the direction of the WCS facilities director, maintains the campus as outlined below.
POSITION DUTIES
1. Complete all work orders in a timely manner. as assigned using work order software on provided ipad
2. Opens campus daily: unarms buildings, performs security, visual checks of school grounds daily.
3. Responsible to pick up all types of trash and overall cleanliness of the entire campus including planters and shrubs
4. If needed clean restrooms and classrooms and or any emergency clean up needs
5. Required to work school events that could be on weekends or evenings
6. Organize and perform all tasks related to school events including set up of chairs, PA system, stage and traffic control
7. Must provide your own tools to perform various types’ maintenance/handyman work.
8. Must be able to operate maintenance vehicle safely on campus around students
9. Must be able to communicate with staff and faculty in a positive way at all times
10. Responsible for outside courts, playground inspections and surface maintenance
11. Responsible for maintaining all irrigation systems from sprinklers to timer adjustments, planting flowers, ect….
12. Responsible for maintaining all electrical systems, air conditioning thermostats, clocks, and light timers on campus.
13. Responsible for all daily pool needs, maintenance and cleaning (training course will be provided)
14. Responsible to maintain and repair plumbing needs, toilets, sinks, drinking fountains
15. Responsible for painting needs in all areas on campus from offices, classrooms to outside curbs, fences and buildings
16. Responsible for school provided powered and non-powered equipment, maintenance and up keep.
17. Responsible to cover all duties of day time custodian position as needed
18. Must attend and participate in weekly devotions and prayer
Summer work is full time
1. Responsibilities include all of the above listed duties
2. Cleaning and repairs of the entire campus inside and out including operating carpet cleaning machine.
3. Work with any outside vendors on the property as needed
Skills
1. Ability to estimate quantities and types of materials and supplies needed.
2. Ability to maintain schedules for periodic maintenance of all facilities.
3. Ability to do lifting and moving of school furniture and equipment.
4. Ability to understand oral and written direction.
5. Understanding of procedures necessary to recognize and handle potentially harmful chemicals or hazardous materials.
Qualifications
Committed Christian. (1 Timothy 4:12)
Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in all maintenance work.
Ability to follow directions from supervisors and get along well with co-workers and children.
Education
High School Graduate.
Preference given to any additional maintenance management courses or experience.
