TRANSFER OPTIONS

Completed AA or AS degree: General education courses will be considered met. (Note: While CLC’s MTH
141 may be taken to complete the AA/AS degree, additional math courses at CC-MO will likely be required in order to
meet course prerequisites. Consult the CC-MO gen. ed. and major transfer planning guides for more details.)
 IAI GECC: Columbia College – MO does not participate in the IAI.
 Completing some courses at CLC: If transferring prior to completing the AA or AS at CLC, courses will
be evaluated on a course-by-course basis. Columbia College follows an Open Admissions PolicyTransfer students must provide evidence of 6 credit hours of college work with grades of “C” or
better.
TRANSFER CREDITS
Up to 96 hours are accepted from all sources (community colleges, baccalaureate-granting
colleges/universities, military, CLEP, Partners in Criminal Justice and credit for life experience). However,
general education, upper level credit hours and core courses may be needed for degree completion. 30
credit hours in residency must be completed with Columbia College. 39 credit hours out of the 120 total
credits required to graduate must be earned at the junior/senior level. Only courses with a grade of “C” or
higher are transferable to Columbia College – Missouri.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Columbia follows an Open Admissions Policy- Evidence of satisfactory college work
CALCULATION OF ADMISSION GPA
GPA includes all college courses. Developmental coursework will not be included.

APPLICATION
There is no application deadline. Early application is encouraged.
Students may transfer to Columbia College at any time of the year and with at least 6 earned credit hours
completed. Students should arrange to meet with an Academic Advisor of Columbia College as early as
possible to plan the transfer.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
Bachelor of Arts degrees require 6 semester hours of a single foreign language. This can also be met by 4
years of a language in high school w/grades of “C” or better, or by taking two Culture and Society courses
at Columbia College.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Columbia College-Lake County offers several scholarship opportunities to qualified students. Students can
apply for the Lake County Campus Scholarship, Associate Degree Transfer Grant, Military Spouse Tuition
Grant, Spouse’s Opportunity Grant, Lake County Honors Scholarship, Col. Charles E. McGee Scholarship,
as well as The Frank Westling Scholarship and the Two-In-Family grant for families with more than one
immediate family member enrolled full time at the college in on-campus classes. Contact Financial Aid for
