Helps develop action plans for regional workshops and coordinates the national convention’s chapter development events. Each summer crafts an annual chapter development initiative and plans methods to encourage sponsor and student involvement. Convention—Chaired by the national vice president. Each summer, helps to plan the national convention, including decisions about overall theme and tone, speakers, new or city-specific events, implementation of the national service project, and cultural choices for free time. In addition to the above committees, the president may create ad hoc committees as needs arise. At this time, there are the following ad hoc committees: Constitution Institutional Standards Publications Regional/National Structure Electronic Council Meetings Any committee may present an item for Council consideration monthly. On the first Friday of each month, items submitted to office@alphachihonor.org will be emailed collectively to the Council. Electronic discussion using reply-all will continue for one week. On the second Friday of the month, each Council member will receive via email a private ballot to be cast by the following Monday. Any committee wishing to propose an action with financial implications should submit the recommendation to the Audit & Finance Committee (email to: lmills@milligan.edu) 30 days before the action is to be considered by the Council. The committee will review the proposal, consulting with the national office as needed, and return an opinion within 14 days. To maintain high-quality records, at the annual national convention each committee chair should submit a written report to the Council of all committee actions since the previous convention.
