Home sweet home
2
Read the following text about Sarah’s home.
Hello, my name’s Sarah. I’m American, but I live in England with my husband and son. We lived in a small
flat in downtown London but we didn’t like it. The city was busy and terribly expensive. Last month, we
moved house and we now live in a three-storey house in the country. Our home is not very close to the
city centre. It takes about an hour by car, but I enjoy living in the country because it is so quiet and we
have friendly neighbours. We really like our new home. There are three bedrooms, one large bathroom
and a large living room with four windows. There is also a guest room. We normally have our evening
meals in the dining room because the kitchen is small. There is no balcony on the second floor*, but that’s
ok. We always eat a big breakfast outside on the patio when it is nice outside. All in all, we feel at home.
*Culture note: the second floor in America = the first floor in Europe
True or false?
Mark T for True or F for False. If you mark False, make the statement true.
Example
Sarah lives alone.

____________________________________________________________________________________
4
