Course This course will combine reading, writing and applied assignments to Overview help students become familiar with both the resources available to them as DMACC students and the skills and abilities required to be successful as college students. 1 Study Tips To do well in this course a student must attend regularly, hand in all assignments at the start of class periods and participate in class discussions. Students will have to demonstrate basic computer skills such as checking and responding to email, performing word processing functions, sending an email with an attachment and using the DMACC website and Web Info System. Required Assignments Completion Plans: Submit completion plans that you completed for spring semester Weekly reflection assignments: Each week, I will email you within 24 hours of class and ask you two questions. You will respond to that email before the beginning of class the following week with your response to one of the questions. You response should be approximately 10-15 sentences (between half a page and a page). No late weekly reflection assignments will be accepted DMACC on/off campus activity: Attend a campus event at DMACC and complete the assignment sheet for the activity. Extra Credit Extra credit is available in the form of quizzes. If you would to complete extra credit, please let me know. Study Expectations Students are expected to attend each class session, complete all assignments and reading and devote at least 2 hours per week outside of class reviewing the material in order to be successful in this course. “Individual circumstances such as health, childcare, rural roads, distance from the College, etc. can vary greatly among students and staff.
