Logjam Atop Leaderboard Remains at U.S. Kids Golf World Championship Three players share lead at Southern Pines Golf Course PINEHURST, N.C. – With 18 holes remaining, three players hold a share of the Girls 11 lead in the 2012 World Championship. Yujeong Son of Norman, Okla., Monet Chun of Richmond Hill, Canada, and Anina Ku of Basking Ridge, N.J., are deadlocked at 2-under-par 142. The U.S. Kids Golf World Championship is the largest junior golf tournament in the world. The three-day event is held August 2-4, 2012, in Pinehurst and Southern Pines, N.C. The field is made up of over 1,200 players from 39 countries. The Girls 11 division played Southern Pines Golf Course at 5,050 yards. Son carded the round of the day, a 4-under-par 68 that featured four birdies, an eagle and two bogeys. Chun carded a steady 1-under-par 71 with two birdies and only one bogey. Ku also posted a 71 with three birdies and two bogeys. The trio is being closely pursued by first-round co-leader Isabella Fierro Saul of Mexico. Fierro Saul recorded an even-par 72 Friday and sits at 1-under-par 143, one stroke behind the co-leaders. Isabella Holpfer of Vienna, Austria, and Angelique Francis of Murphy, Texas, are tied for fifth place at 1-over-par 145.
