1982
Wine
You!
The 1982 Bordeaux wines are a historic vintage. Growing
conditions were nearly perfect from start to finish. And “if you
have the funds and want to experience 1982 Bordeaux wine at
its best, Chateau Pichon Lalande is the wine to buy. At its best,
it’s bottled decadence. “ (Wine Cellar Insider) It is “youthful and
impossibly delicate for such a full-bodied wine.. Chateaux Pichon
-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande has been rated a perfect 100
by the venerable wine critic Robert Parker and it “continues to
be one of the most satisfying wines of this great vintage…and
about as hedonistic as a Pichon-Lalande or any Bordeaux, for the
a matter, can be.” This bottle arrived in the United States in
1984 and has been cellared at a constant temperature of 55
degrees for the past 30 years in Alexandria. Buy it, uncork it, and
taste perfection!

stories? Do you find your son or daughter reading under the covers
with a flashlight after you’ve declared, “Lights out!” Does your child
beg to hear stories of adventure? Then this is the auction item you
and your child have been waiting for. Over the course of five evenings
(dates to be mutually agreed upon) you and your child or children
will welcome five different teachers - one each per evening - into your
home for a never-to-be forgotten bedtime story experience. Mary
Chrisinger, Nayeli Pena, Betty LaPrade, Miriam Solms, and Lisa Cooper
will each bring a book related to a different theme - folk tales, Spanish
folk tales, sports, and animals are among the themes being planned - to
read aloud to your little one(s). Your child then gets to keep the book
and relive the happy memories of the evening each time he or she
rereads it. And who knows? While the teachers are sharing their love
of literature, perhaps you can sneak away and read a few pages of your
current novel in peace and quiet!

1002. PK 4&5 Class Gift - Garden Bench and Side Table
You’re never too old,
too wacky, too wild,
to pick up this bench
and read to a child.
It features a cat,
a cat in a hat
with thumbprints of beetles,
bugs and maybe even a gnat.
So write your number big,
write your number bold,
and this bench could be yours,
don’t get left out in the cold!

Imagine a too hot or too rainy summer day. Instead of hours of TV or
video games, your children can lose themselves in a fabulous collection
of books! For this Book Nook, each 4th grade student chose his or
her favorite chapter book, and a favorite quote from that book. The
quotes were then hand-written on this hand-painted black and white
bookcase. The students donated the books they chose, so there is a
beautiful collection of chapter books to go along with the bookcase.
Two beautiful iron bookends hold the books in place.
