Bookstore Introduction
For those who would enjoy shopping for Buddhism-related
items in a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, Hsi Fang
Temple in San Diego provides Buddha’s Light Bookstore.
The bookstore offers an array of books on topics mostly
pertaining to Buddhism, but also extending into food, world
religion, and children’s books. The books are arranged in
some twenty categories, covering many elements of
Buddhism.
Buddha’s Light is more than books. In addition, an
assortment of compact disks, incense and incense holders,
jewelry, meditation cushions, figurines and statues,
bracelets, necklaces, and pendants are available.
Many of the bracelets and necklaces are hand make, mostly
from Taiwan, and are unique. Many of the statues and
figurines are from Taiwan or other parts of Asia. The CD’s
include Chinese and Tibetan Buddhist chanting, as well as
music for meditation and yoga. The meditation cushions
come in many colors and different packing materials.
The bookstore includes sitting areas, with freshly brewed
coffee and tea available.
Located in the very congenial University Heights
subdivision of San Diego, Buddha’s Light Bookstore is at
4538 Park Boulevard, a block and a half south of Adams
Avenue.
