Internet Websites...
YouTube’s Greatest Hits
YouTube began in 2005 as a website for uploading and sharing videos on the Internet. It was a big
success! Just one year later, Google bought the company for 1.65 billion dollars—about
1,900,000,000,000 Korean won. Most people know that YouTube is now one of the most popular
websites in the world. But do you know what the most popular videos on YouTube are? Here are the 3
most watched YouTube videos of all time....
#3: “David After Dentist” This home video shows a young boy, David, after a trip to the dentist. David
is trying to talk with his father, but he is acting a little crazy because of the medicine from his dental
surgery. He asks, “Is this real life?,” tells his dad, “You have four eyes,” and finally falls asleep in his
seat. How many times have people watched this video? 108 million (108,000,000)!
#2: “Evolution of Dance” This is a comedy dance performance by Judson Laipply. He performs dance
moves from popular songs across the generations, showing how dance has “evolved” over the
years. The video begins with Elvis Presley's “Hound Dog” (1956) and ends with N Sync’s “Bye Bye Bye”
(2000). He dances to songs from Michael Jackson, Eminem, and many other artists. He even dances to
a song from the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971 version). People seem to like
Laipply’s dancing too; his video has been watched 192 million times.
#1: “Charlie Bit Me” This is another home video showing Harry and his one-year-old brother,
Charlie. Harry has his finger in Charlie’s mouth, and Charlie bites it. “Charlie bit me,” he says. Then
Harry puts his finger in Charlie's mouth again, and Charlie bites harder. “Ouch!” says Harry, while
Charlie just smiles and laughs. The video sounds simple, and it is, but it’s the most popular ever on
YouTube. How many times have people watched Charlie bite his older brother? Over 435 million.
Are you tired of reading about these videos yet? Do you want to want to watch them instead? You can
