Registering for Class
Registration Time Ticket
You should be eligible to register yourself for class when the term time ticket opens. In order to prevent
the University Banner system from crashing on the first day of registration, students are given a
registration time ticket that serves as their window to register for class. The registration time tickets are
assigned based on university status.
To find out when your registration time ticket opens:
 Go to the Registration Information found on the Student Resource Center’s website:
http://www.drexel.edu/src/registration.asp
 Select “registration time ticket”
 Select the quarter term
The registration time ticket for the selected term will show a calendar for the month that registration
becomes available.


Web registration dates= Dates that Students can register themselves on the Drexel One Portal
Course Adjustment Period = also known as the Add/Drop Period (first two weeks of the term
begins on Sunday before classes begin and ends on 2nd Sunday)
Students eligible to register:
All students receive an email reminder in their Drexel email accounts from Joseph Salomone, the University
Registrar, about a week before registration opens to remind everyone to register for class.
Students eligible to register on the first day of registration:
 Graduating Graduate Students
 Athletes
 ROTC students
 Performing Arts Ensemble students
 Burlington County Community College (BCC) students
Students eligible to register on the second day of registration:
Most of you will fall under the “New and Continuing Matriculated Graduate Students,” who are
able to register starting on the second day of registration.
Knowing What to Register For:
New Students:
New students should refer to the plan of study in their acceptance email or see the General Plans of
Study (per starting term) on the Teacher Ed Resource Portal under Program heading information.
If you have questions regarding your plan of study, or would like to make changes to your plan of study
depending on the course load that you can handle, then you will need to contact your graduate advisor
for assistance. Generally, it is recommended that students who work full-time should only take up to two
courses per term. If you do not require financial aid and you would like to take less than two courses per
term, please contact your advisor for a revised plan of study with one course per term.
Full-time is considered 9 graduate credits or more and part-time is up to 8 graduate credits.
Continuing Students:
Continuing students should follow the original plan of study from their acceptance email or see the
General Plans of Study (per starting term) on the MSSI Resource Portal under Program heading
information.
If the student has strayed from their original plan of study, they should contact their graduate advisor for
an updated plan of study.
Full-time is considered 9 graduate credits or more and part-time is up to 8 graduate credits.
CRN and Course Descriptions
Before you register for class you will need to know what courses you need to take for the upcoming
term, which courses are available, and the CRNs of those courses.
To find out if a course is available and to find the CRN:
Go to the “Schedule of Classes” at https://duapp2.drexel.edu/webtms_du/app
 Select the appropriate quarter term
 Select “Teacher Education” (for a schedule of the EDUC courses) all graduate students must take
graduate level courses: EDUC 500 and above for electives and core pedagogy courses.
The CRN is the 5-digit number in blue. To see if the course is available, you can move the cursor over
the CRN to see the number enrolled and the max enrollment. By clicking on the CRN you will be able to
see a course description and all course information for that term.
Choosing appropriate Sections:
 On-campus courses are 001 sections
 Online courses are 900 and above sections
Problems with Registration:
Once your registration time ticket opens you will be able to register yourself for class through Drexel One, or
you can submit an add/drop form to your advisor using the School of Education’s fax number: 215-895-5879.
You will need to submit an add/drop form to your advisor if:
o The course requires a prerequisite
o The course is outside of your department
o The course is outside of your major
o If you receive an error message
o If it’s past the time ticket window for web registration
You will not be able to register for class if:
o You have not declared your “Intent to Enroll.”
If you are unable to register because you did not submit the Graduate Matriculation form
and $100 matriculation fee or because you did not notify Drexel that you would be
deferring, you will need to contact your assigned graduate advisor for assistance.
o Deferred to later term.
You did not notify Graduate Admissions or your graduate advisor that you were deferring to the
term in which you are now attempting to register. Please contact your assigned graduate advisor
for assistance.
o There is a hold on your account
If there is a hold on your account, you will need to contact your graduate advisor to find
out what type of hold has been placed on your account, if you do not already know. You
will be unable to register for class until the hold has been removed. If you pay a financial
hold with a check, the hold will not be removed until the check clears—approximately
ten business days.
o Your accounts are inactive (not taking courses) for more than 4 consecutive terms
If you have been inactive for more than 4 consecutive terms, you will need to contact
your graduate advisor for a readmit form, updated policies, and a new plan of study. You
can also find the Graduate Readmit form on the School of Education’s website under
“forms.”
o Your time ticket has not opened or has expired for web registration
Fill out the add form and fax it to your graduate advisor at 215-895-5879. Once received,
your graduate advisor will email you a registration confirmation.
