However there is a large adjacent NCP open-air car park available at a cost of £15 per 24 hours. For those travelling by train the destination should be Cardiff Central Station - it is then a short 10-minute taxi ride to the Hotel. There is also a Bus Service from the bus station immediately outside the Central Train Station. The Number 8 is best. For more details see: http://www.cardiffbus.com/english/servicelisting.shtml There is also a train service to Cardiff Bay Station from Cardiff Central with a 10-minute walk from Cardiff Bay Station to the Hotel. Those travelling by public Transport might find the Traveline Cymru website helpful: http://www.traveline-cymru.info/ For anyone not content with the hedonistic pleasures of the Conference itself there is also plenty to see and do around Cardiff: http://www.thestdavidshotel.com/about-us/things-to-do/ http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attractions-g186460-ActivitiesCardiff_Southern_Wales_Wales.html Delegates using PowerPoint/software to present must bring their presentations on a USB stick please. Delegates who wish for their presentations/papers to be made available at the conference should bring hard copies (usually 20-30 for parallel sessions) and should make sure a copy is taken by the session chair to be uploaded to the ALT website after he conference (please note each session chair will also write a synopsis of the session for the website). Other than for delegates entering the Stan Marsh best paper prize, there is no expectation that papers are submitted to the Association in full, or in advance. For delegates attending their first conference, please note dress is casual during the day and smart casual for the dinners, but do feel free to dress up in your Glad rags if it makes you happy!
