The Dean Gallery is home to a world-famous
selection of works from the Dada and Surrealist
movements and houses a large collection of works
by Edinburgh-born sculptor Sir Eduardo Paolozzi.
The Glasgow Boys - Drawing Inspiration (29

Around 30 works proffer an intimate insight into the
working methods and friendships of The Glasgow
Boys - a loose-knit group of avant-garde artists
who were inspired by scenes of rural life made by
continental painters at the end of the nineteenth
century.
Nathan Coley: There Will Be No Miracles Here,
(7 January - 31 December) Tickets: Free
Turner-nominated Scottish artist Nathan Coley's
illuminated text in the garden of the Dean Gallery
is taken from a 17th Century royal proclamation
made in a French town believed to have been the
frequent site of miracles.

Another World: Dali, Magritte and the
Surrealists, (10 July-9 January 2011)
A major exhibition bringing together masterpieces
by Dali, Magritte, Picasso and others in a
fascinating exploration of the mesmerising
oddness of the artworks produced in the linking of
the unconscious mind to forms in the material
world Includes loans from major public and private
collections.
Christen Kobke: Danish Master of Light, (5
July-30 October)
The most exhaustive selection of paintings by the
pre-eminent Danish painter (1810-1848) ever to be
shown outside Denmark, with around forty of his
works on display. Kobke's characteristically
elegant composition and clean, luminous treatment
of light and colour marked him out as one of the
foremost painters of Denmark's Golden Age.

Impressionist Gardens (13 July-17 October)

This major international exhibition of around 90
works incorporates paintings by Monet, Pissarro,
Renoir, Manet and Sisley. In addition, the
exhibition examines the continued significance of
the Impressionist garden to the generation of
artists working immediately after the period, such
as Cézanne and Pierre Bonnard.
What You See is Where You're At, (25 May-30

The second phase of the Scottish National Gallery
of Modern Art's 50th Anniversary celebrations sees
new displays of Scottish Colourist and German
and Austrian Expressionist work, the first Scottish

E.J.H. Corner: A Pioneer in Tropical Mycology

A display of books, drawings and specimens giving
an insight into the work of mycologist E.J.H.
Corner (1906–1996) who documented the fungi of
the Malaysian Peninsula and Singapore Island.
The objects on display are only a small selection of
the Corner collection held by the RBGE.
