12th Grade Economics Class Syllabus
Texts
“Building Your Future: Banking, Financing, and Investing” by The Actuarial Foundation (“Banking”, “Financing”, or “Investing”)
"Economics: Concepts and Choices", McDougal Littell Publishing ("textbook")
"Naked Economics: Undressing the Dismal Science" by Charles Wheelan ("Naked")
Class Rules
+ I do not accept late work unless you had an excused absence.
+ Check your grade on Harmony regularly; you need to pass this class to graduate.
Format
As this is a senior level course, there will be quite a bit of reading required. It will be difficult for you to succeed in this course if you
do not read.
Outside of class, the best way to reach me is via email. During the school week I will almost always respond within 24 hours -- usually
much faster. I usually check my email at the end of the school day on Friday and do not check it again until Monday morning.
I like to think that I'm pretty easy to get along with, but if you have an issue with the course or with me, please speak to me
personally and privately about it. I would strongly prefer to work out any problems in this manner rather than involve
parents/administration/etc.
Let's have fun and try to learn a little bit, too!
