Classroom courses
Our classroom courses give you the very best chance of passing your exams
first time. Our ACCA Tutor Team is highly experienced and is entirely
comprised of former BPP Tutors - they will support you every step of the
way! We supply all relevant study materials and tutor support right up until
the date of the exam. We also provide free refreshments throughout your
course and a study room for private study during college opening hours.
Classroom Tuition
Classroom tuition covers the entire syllabus using exam standard
lecture examples. You get your own course notes and a question bank
kit for essential question practice. You also benefit from free access to
all our Online Course Content, (pre-recorded lectures, past question/
solution debriefs and relevant articles). All our Classroom courses include a mock exam, intensive revision course and question practice
sessions.
Classroom Revision
Classroom revision focuses on question practice and exam technique
and covers the key topic areas on the syllabus. We provide you with
specific revision notes and also include a full mock exam for your first
exam rehearsal. The question based revision is included as part of your
classroom revision. We are the only ACCA educator which includes free
access to our Online Revision Course Content to help with your exam
preparation outside the classroom.
Question Practice Session
Our Question Practice Session (QPS) gives you the opportunity for
additional timed question practice with an immediate tutor marking
and feedback service. The QPS is included as part of the classroom
tuition and classroom revision courses.

Meet Our Team
Tutors
The ACCA tutor team at First Intuition have a wealth of both practical and
academic experience and are specialists in their subject area.
Peter Plant, B.Sc. (Mgmt.), M.A, FCCA
Garret Mulvin, ACA, B.Comm (Intl)
Peter co-founded BPP Dublin in 1995 and
was the Managing Director of BPP’s
operations in Ireland from 1995 to 2012.
Peter has specialised in lecturing on a
number of ACCA subjects including P1, P4
and P5. He is a very popular and
successful tutor with a wealth of both
practical and academic experience. Peter
has lectured to ACCA students worldwide and is known for
his dynamic and practical approach in the classroom.
Garret is a member of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of Ireland (ACA)
and holds a Bachelor of International
Commerce Degree (with Italian) from the
National University of Ireland. He has
worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers,
along with gaining further experience in
the financial services sector in Bermuda.
Garret is a full-time tutor with First Intuition and teaches
management accounting, performance management and
financial accounting to all levels of ACCA, CIMA and CPA
students. Garret lectures ACCA F7, F9 and P2 subjects.
Mick O Callaghan F.C.M.A. C.Eng.
MIEI.
Leo Norris BBLS, MAcc, ACCA, LBCAl
Mick is a member of CIMA with over 15
years’ of extensive lecturing experience at
the highest level of professional
accountancy exams. He has specialised in
the delivery of ACCA P3 courses for a
number of years with considerable success
and most recently with BPP Limerick. Mick
has always had very positive student feedback and is a
favourite amongst ACCA students.
Leo has been a favourite amongst ACCA
students due to his approachability and
motivational classes. His students have
consistently exceeded national pass rates
and include multiple price winners.
Leo has extensive lecturing experience in
Audit & Assurance, Corporate Governance
& Financial Accounting. His background includes working in
the corporate finance sector and KPMG, professional
education in South-East Asia and Business & Career
Coaching with individual and corporate clients. Leo is
presently non-executive director with a successful Irish
NGO .
Catriona Gaynor, ACA, CTA
Catriona Gaynor is an AITI Chartered Tax
Adviser (CTA) and a Chartered Accountant
(ACA). She previously lectured in taxation
at the University of Limerick, BPP
Professional Education and the Irish Tax
Institute. She has lectured ACCA for many
years and has had many prize winners in
both F6 and P6. She is co-author of the
book 'Irish Taxation Law and Practice' for the last 8 years.
She previously worked with Ernst & Young in Dublin. She
is an Associate of both the Irish Tax Institute and
Chartered Accountants Ireland and has studied
international tax in the US for the past two years.
Strategic study and exam techniques feature as a
prominent element of Leo’s classes. As a student he
received numerous awards, both nationally &
internationally, including 1st place affiliate for ACCA
Professional exams and 2nd in the world in Advanced
Performance Management. Leo will be lecturing ACCA F8
and P1 for the June 2014 exam sitting.

ACCA Exams
ACCA exams are not easy and require a lot of hard work. The best way to prepare for your
exams is to follow a First Intuition course of study. The pass mark in all exams is 50%.
There are two exam cycles per year and you can sit up to 4 exams in each exam cycle:
 1 February to 31 July
 1 August to 31 January
Knowledge module subjects are normally assessed by computer based examination (CBE)
and can be attempted at any time at any licensed CBE centre. The exams are 2 hours each
and comprise a mix of multiple choice and objective test/short answer questions.
All other subjects are written exams of 3 hours duration with
15 minutes additional reading and planning time. The exams are
held in June and December each year. Entry for these exams is
made online via your my ACCA account. Most students sit the
exams in subject order, but any combination of papers in each
level can be sat in any sitting, though the levels/modules must
be attempted in order.
