The FAA announced they would no longer be testing the following topic areas:
• ADF/NDB
• Radar Summary Charts
• EFAS (En Route Flight Advisory Service)
• Medevac
• TWEB (Transcribed Weather Broadcast)
• Obsolete fuel grades (80 octane, 100 octane, and 115 octane)
• Questions regarding tailplane icing
As a result of the FAA’s announcement, Gleim has deleted outline material and/or questions related to these topics.
Study Unit 2 – Airspace
Page 51, Subunit 2.5: Questions 20 and 21 were deleted.
Study Unit 8 – Weather Services
Page 138, Subunit 8.8: “Radar Summary Charts and” was removed from the title; ergo, the new title is “Radar Weather Reports.” In addition, items 1 through 3 and 5 were removed from the subunit.
Page 139, Subunit 8.10: The title was changed from “En Route Flight Advisory Service
(EFAS)” to “Flight Watch.” Moreover, in item 1, the reference to “En Route Flight Advisory
Service (EFAS)” was changed to “Flight Watch,” and the last sentence was removed.
Page 152, Subunit 8.8: The title was updated, and questions 48 and 50 through 52 were deleted.
Page 153, Subunit 8.8: Question 53 and Figure 19 were deleted.
Page 154, Subunit 8.10: The title was updated, and questions 58 and 59 were deleted.
Study Unit 10 – Navigation and Preflight Preparation
Page 254, Subunit 10.5: Question 30 was deleted.
Page 255, Subunit 10.5: Questions 31 and 32 were deleted.
