Project Description
Demacia Works Inc. (DWI) has been leading the avionics industry with innovative and
professional developments since its inception in 2000. Blue Jet’s specialization is in commercial
aircraft, such as Boeing 747 and privately owned small planes. With a proven record of success,
DWI has been able to partner with Blue Jet Airlines to provide them with all of the solutions for
their 50 year anniversary renovation plan. DWI will provide Blue Jet with consultation on all of its
avionics maintenance and repair challenges. In accordance with the new safety and best practice
codes, Blue Jet’s entire fleet will be retrofitted with new airframes and engines. These repairs and
enhancements are crucial to the performance, safety and reliability of Blue Jet’s fleet.
Measurable Organizational Value (MOV)
1. Desired Area of Impact - The areas expected to be impacted by the project include the
Customer, Financial, and Operational areas of Blue Jet. Customers will experience
increased safety and more efficient and effective flights due to the repairs and
enhancements being implemented by the project. Financially, Blue Jet is expected to
3
experience increased profit margins due to decreased maintenance costs as a result of
the repairs and enhancements implemented. New airframes and engines will undoubtedly
require less maintenance than older ones, resulting in lower maintenance costs after the
initial investment. Operationally, Blue Jet is expected to experience increased operational
effectiveness and lower costs due to streamlined operations as a result of the repairs and
enhancements.
2. Desired Value of the Project - Since the goal of the project is avionics maintenance and
repair, the desired value of the project centers around quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
The first desired outcome is better safety and reliability for customers as a result of the
repairs. The second desired outcome is faster flight times as a result of new engines and
enhancements implemented in the project. The third and final desired outcome is cheaper
maintenance costs as a result of the repairs and enhancements.
3. Appropriate Metric - By retrofitting Blue Jet’s fleet with new airframes and engines, the
company is expected to see a 20% increase in profit margins within the first two years of
the initial investment. This increase is due to lower maintenance costs and more efficient
engines, which will cost less to maintain and consume less fuel than conventional engines.
4. Time Frame for Achieving MOV - Due to the size of Blue Jet’s fleet, a six month period is
required to complete the upgrades and maintenance. At three months, about half of the
fleet should be completed and ready for flight.
5. Summarized MOV - This project will be deemed successful if Blue Jet experiences
increased quality, effectiveness, and efficiency in the customer, financial, and operational
areas of the company and a 20% increase in profit margins within the first two years of the
initial project investment.

Scope Change Process
6
To perform a scope change a requests the following documents must be submitted
on and then reviewed by all project manager then Blue Jet’s management before any
implementation of the project. Requests need to be well developed in order for the project
manager and team to undergo any change in the projects scope. Other alternatives to
the should be discussed, so that the impact on the scope, schedule, resources and cost
can stay under control. When the project manager and stakeholders make a request it is
necessary they also fill out one of these forms. The requests will be logged in a simple table
to keep track so there is records of the changes and people can be held accountable.
