(DWI) has been leading the avionics industry with innovative and professional developments since its inception in 2000. Blue Jet’s specialization is in commercial aircraft, such as Boeing 747 and privately owned small planes. With a proven record of success, DWI has been able to partner with Blue Jet Airlines to provide them with all of the solutions for their 50 year anniversary renovation plan. DWI will provide Blue Jet with consultation on all of its avionics maintenance and repair challenges. In accordance with the new safety and best practice codes, Blue Jet’s entire fleet will be retrofitted with new airframes and engines. These repairs and enhancements are crucial to the performance, safety and reliability of Blue Jet’s fleet. Measurable Organizational Value (MOV) 1. Desired Area of Impact - The areas expected to be impacted by the project include the Customer, Financial, and Operational areas of Blue Jet. Customers will experience increased safety and more efficient and effective flights due to the repairs and enhancements being implemented by the project. Financially, Blue Jet is expected to 3 experience increased profit margins due to decreased maintenance costs as a result of the repairs and enhancements implemented. New airframes and engines will undoubtedly require less maintenance than older ones, resulting in lower maintenance costs after the initial investment. Operationally, Blue Jet is expected to experience increased operational effectiveness and lower costs due to streamlined operations as a result of the repairs and enhancements. 2. Desired Value of the Project - Since the goal of the project is avionics maintenance and repair, the desired value of the project centers around quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. The first desired outcome is better safety and reliability for customers as a result of the repairs. The second desired outcome is faster flight times as a result of new engines and enhancements implemented in the project. The third and final desired outcome is cheaper maintenance costs as a result of the repairs and enhancements. 3. Appropriate Metric - By retrofitting Blue Jet’s fleet with new airframes and engines, the company is expected to see a 20% increase in profit margins within the first two years of the initial investment. This increase is due to lower maintenance costs and more efficient engines, which will cost less to maintain and consume less fuel than conventional engines. 4. Time Frame for Achieving MOV - Due to the size of Blue Jet’s fleet, a six month period is required to complete the upgrades and maintenance. At three months, about half of the fleet should be completed and ready for flight. 5. Summarized MOV - This project will be deemed successful if Blue Jet experiences increased quality, effectiveness, and efficiency in the customer, financial, and operational areas of the company and a 20% increase in profit margins within the first two years of the initial project investment. Requests need to be well developed in order for the project manager and team to undergo any change in the projects scope. Other alternatives to the should be discussed, so that the impact on the scope, schedule, resources and cost can stay under control.When the project manager and stakeholders make a request it is necessary they also fill out one of these forms. The requests will be logged in a simple table to keep track so there is records of the changes and people can be held accountable.
