This is a temporary job where I am working with a busy team and effectively managing my time and improving my writing skills by updating regular blog content, becoming more familiar with SEO by collecting information from articles deciding keywords and phrases to get the highest ranking on Google. I have to ensure all the links are directing to the correct place and overall I am responsible for managing the blog content of many articles. JOB TITLE: Front End Web Developer with Your Parking Space (London) September 2014 – October 2014 Responsibilities: -­‐ Updating web pages to match PSD Designs -­‐ Following guidelines from regular meetings -­‐ Become familiar with Laravel -­‐ Presenting ideas to the team Skills: This was a 1-­‐month internship with an online parking market place, where I was working with a small team of web developers where we all had different roles and worked together as a team by communicating regularly and discussing any issues that we may come across and helping one another throughout the process. I was handling the front end of the website which was created using HTML and CSS with a PHP Framework (Laravel). JOB TITLE: Digital Developer Intern with The United Agency (London) July 2014 – September 2014 Responsibilities: -­‐ Following clients requirements -­‐ Meeting the set deadlines -­‐ Creating Facebook Competition applications -­‐ Testing projects for multiple users Skills: This was a 2-­‐month internship with a social media and digital marketing company. I was working with the creative and development team, helping to create Facebook applications and websites for a variety of clients. I became familiar with working with the Twitter and Instagram API and also learnt how to develop Facebook applications for multiple users and devices. Following and understanding the briefs has proven to be highly important to ensure the final outcome meets the right expectations. It has helped me keep organised and on track of deadlines. It has also proved how important the process of testing is when it comes to producing a project for multiple users. JOB TITLE: Junior Developer with Oddslife (London) August 2013 – December 2013 Responsibilities: -­‐ Re-­‐develop business websites -­‐ Meeting the set deadlines -­‐ Making the websites responsive -­‐ Being flexible with hours to suit the team Skills: During my time with Oddslife, I worked within a remotely based team where I was trusted to work from home by communicating with the team to ensure the work was completed. Being flexible on working hours to suit other team members was also important to allow us to beneficially work together. I also improved my knowledge of PHP and WordPress by playing an important role in the re-­‐development of the businesses web pages. Time management was vital, as I had to meet the set deadlines to enable the websites to be completed on schedule. JOB TITLE: Junior Developer / Designer Internship with SparkNet Media (London) June 2013 – August 2013 Responsibilities: -­‐ Designing & Developing Flash games -­‐ Meeting scheduled deadlines -­‐ Managing the companies CMS -­‐ Meeting clients & presenting new ideas. Skills: During my internship I explored various technologies such as Wordpress and Adobe Flash and learnt that communication is a main aspect when working for clients. I had to design and develop Flash games for a fan site, which were taken from a specification so understanding a clients needs to create their vision is very important. I also had to manage the company’s CMS using Wordpress where I was trusted to handle personal details. When presenting new ideas and creations to clients, it was important that I had planned beforehand so it was clear and no misunderstandings were taken away from the meeting. JOB TITLE: CMS Champion with University of Greenwich (London) February 2013 – August 2014 Responsibilities: -­‐ Working within a team -­‐ Using initiative -­‐ Present information in a group -­‐ Use communication skills Skills: Being a CMS champion, I have worked at open days and taster days where I was able to interact with new applicants, which has led me to be fully knowledgeable of my course and related courses. Sharing my knowledge and interest with potential students has helped to inspire them on attending the University of Greenwich. I have gained confidence to work well within a team by listening and communicating with them. JOB TITLE: Waitress with Route 66, American Diner (Marbella, Spain) June 2012 – September 2012 Responsibilities: -­‐ Dealing with customers in a polite manner -­‐ Being punctual to help set up before opening hours -­‐ Trusted to manage cash & card transactions -­‐ Ensuring that all orders were ordered correctly Skills: Working in a restaurant during the busy summer period helped me to improve my ability to stay clam, level-­‐headed and professional within a very demanding environment. I was able to prove to the management team that I was entirely trustworthy and reliable by dealing with cash and card transactions. Liaising with customers, kitchen staff and other employees helped improve my communication skills, languages and teamwork skills.
