Bullet Outline People starving in England o Not enough land to grow crops o More land in America Orphans had no future in England o could be indentured servants in Maryland Joined relatives who were already in Maryland Adventurers came to help set up a new colony Essay: There were many reasons people came from England to begin a new life in Maryland. With no opportunities to make their way in England, orphans could change their future by going to America where they could make a new beginning for themselves as indentured servants and eventually earn their own land to raise crops. Because so many people were starving in England, as there was not enough land for everyone to grow enough crops, coming to Maryland was a way for people to become land owners with plenty of land to grow crops. Another reason people came was to reunite with loved ones who had already moved to Maryland. Also, a trip to Maryland held special appeal to adventurers who could get in on the ground floor of building a new colony in the new world.
