Mr. Luke Randell will assume the role of Representative Director,
President & CEO of Citigroup Global Markets Japan Inc., effective
January 1, 2015.
Currently, Mr. Randell is Head of Markets and Securities Services of
Citigroup Global Markets Japan Inc., a role he assumed in May 2012. In
this role, Mr. Randell oversees the firm’s sales and trading activities
across all Global Markets products in Japan, including equity and fixed
income products, capital markets origination, as well as Citi Investment
Research & Analysis.
Before moving to Japan, Mr. Randell was Co-Head of Global Markets, as well as Head of
Equities for Citi in Australia and New Zealand, a role he assumed in 2009. Prior to this, he was
Head of Equity Derivatives for Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in London from 2005.
Mr. Randell has 30 years’ experience in Capital Markets with responsibilities spanning Australia,
Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Mr. Randell joined Citi in 1991 through County
NatWest (acquired by Citi in 1998) where he was a Director of Portfolio and Index Trading. From
1995 to 1998 he was Head of Equity Trading for Salomon Smith Barney/County NatWest in
Australia and New Zealand, including activity in the Hong Kong and Japan markets. In 1998 Mr.
Randell became Managing Director and Head of Equity Trading and Derivatives, a role he
assumed until he was transferred to London in 2005.
Mr. Randell holds a Business Degree from The University of Technology, Sydney and a Graduate
Diploma in Financial Markets from Macquarie University. He is a registered Certified Practicing
Accountant (CPA) in Australia.
