October is Pastor Appreciation Month. Ask God to give Pastor Elizabeth, and our staff, a sense of how valued they are to Him and to the congregation. (1Thes. 5:1213) 2. Pray for our identity and self-worth will be drawn from God and in line with His will. (Jn. 15:4) 3. As the staff meets on Thursdays, ask the Father to bless each one with wisdom and unity in their deliberations and activities. (Jer. 17:7) 4. Give thanks to God for our parish nurses who have arranged for flu shots to be available on Sunday. (Ps. 103:1-3) 5. Acknowledge before God the Susongs, our communion Stewards, who prepare the elements for the celebration of Jesus’ sacrifice. (Rom. 12:6-7) 6. At communion, we come before God to acknowledge His amazing grace in the gift of His Son and our unworthiness. Spend time preparing your heart for this gift. (Heb. 4:16) 7. Lift the Micro-Loan Program and our on-site coordinator, Robert, before our gracious God. Ask Him to use this to help Haitians provide for their families. (1Cor. 12:4-6) 8. As the SPRC gathers, pray for the Holy Spirit to be their guide in any decisions to be made. (Ps. 25:4) 9. Praise God for the Kitchen Krew, who prepare meals for EDEN Eve. May the fellowship bring us closer to each other. (Matt. 18:20) 10. May our prayers be an encouragement to Howard and the music teams as they lead us in worship of our God. (1Thes. 5:11) 11. Trish and her teams of servant leaders strive to provide opportunities for all levels of adult faith development. Ask God to guide their efforts and our response. (2Thes. 3:5) 12. The Men’s Meat and Greet event this evening is an opportunity to bring friends to enjoy time together. Pray the Lord’s covering over this event. (Ps 121:7-8) 13. Lord, Your Word is our light. Draw all of us to not just read, but absorb what You teach us, so that we can apply it daily. (Ps. 119:105) 14. Father, we pray for those who are struggling with physical, spiritual and emotional issues. Comfort them and those who care for them and grant your healing power. (Ps. 86:6-7) A facility the size of MZ requires regular maintenance. Give thanks for Roger Peck and the trustees who oversee the upkeep and ask Him to help us all respectfully use the building. (2Cor. 9:12) 16. As the Preschool hosts “Donuts with Dad” pray for blessings on the children and their families. (Josh. 24:15) 17. God, we confess that we have sinned in thoughts, words and actions (both done and left undone). We rely on Your mercy to forgive and cleanse us, so that we are fit to do Your tasks here and now. (2Cor. 1:5) 18. May God help our youth to not be conformed to the world, but rather be transformed, so that they can be Christ’s examples to peers. (Rom. 12:1-2) 19 Ask the Father to draw new people to MZ services and activities that they may ‘taste and see that Lord is good.’ (Ps. 34:8) 20. Pray that God would make us generous givers, knowing that we can never repay Him for His many gifts to us. (1Chron. 29:14) 21. Many scouts, both boys and girls, meet at MZ. Ask God to equip the leaders to nurture the next generation in His ways. (Pv. 22:6) 22. The UMW meets today. Pray for the women to enjoy fellowship in the presence of the Lord. (Rev. 3:20) 23. Give God thanks for the many who serve so that MZ can function as the body of Christ. (1Cor. 12:12) 24. Thank God for His presence with us continuously. May we demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in abundance! (Gal. 5:22) 25. May all that we say and do today bring honor and glory to God’s name. (Jn. 4:23-24) 26. Lord, teach us to be wise and make the most of every opportunity to invite others to come and experience the love of Christ. (Col. 4:5) 27. At the Church Conference, may we be bound together in love and obedience to our Lord and united in action, that the world would come to be disciples of Jesus. (Jn. 17:11) 28.
