Evaporated milk withdrawn temporarily
CUSTOMERS WHO USE FULL CREAM AND LOW FAT EVAPORATED MILK can
rest assured that all efforts are being made to ensure that the products are
returned to retail outlets.
Recently, there have been some customer reports of evaporated milk settling or
thickening at the bottom of the cans prior to the best before date. This inconvenience
is a result of a supply issue with the supplier of milk powder, which is the sole
ingredient used to produce evaporated milk.
PHD wishes to assure consumers that although this thickening is unfortunate, it in no
way poses a health risk if the milk is ingested.
While PHD has halted production of the Low Fat Evaporated Milk temporarily, Full
Cream Evaporated Milk will still be available. However, the Full Cream Evaporated
Milk will be unavailable on occasion until the supply challenge is addressed and
stock levels are returned to normal.
Customers are asked to note that the difference in the fat content of the two milk
products is merely 2-3%.
