It will consist of 25 multiple choice items and a selection of structured questions. It is designed to take 1.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time). • For the October test period the paper will consist of 40 multiple choice items and a selection of structured questions. It will cover both Units 1 and 2 content. It is designed to take 2.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time) and will reflect the style of the Unit 3/4 VCAA examination. YEAR 11 CHEMISTRY In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce two papers for students undertaking Units 1 and 2. • For the May test period the paper will cover Unit 1 content only. It will consist of 20 multiple choice items and seven short answer questions. It is designed to take 1.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time). • For the October test period the paper will consist of 25 multiple choice items and a selection of short answer questions. It will cover both Units 1 and 2 content. It is designed to take 2.0 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time) and will reflect the style of the VCAA Unit 3/4 examination. YEAR 11 MATHEMATICS In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce Mathematics papers for the May test period for students undertaking Unit 1 General Mathematics and/or Mathematical Methods (CAS). Both papers have been designed to cater for a wide cohort of students. • General Mathematics will consist of six skills tests and six analysis tasks each of 20 minutes duration. Schools may use these as separate tests or combine them into longer tests. • Mathematical Methods (CAS) will consist of four skills tests and four analysis tasks each of 20 minutes duration. Schools may use these as separate tests or combine them into longer tests. Similar papers will be available for the October test period in General Mathematics A, General Mathematics B and Mathematical Methods (CAS). YEAR 11 PHYSICS In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce two papers for students undertaking Units 1 and 2. • For the May test period the paper will cover the Areas of Study 1 and 2 (Electricity, and Nuclear Physics and Radioactivity). It will not cover the detailed studies. It is designed to take 1 hour (assuming .5 hours of schoolbased testing on a detailed study). Question format will be similar to that used in VCAA Unit 3/4 examination. • For the October Test Period the paper will cover Unit 2 Areas of Study 1 and 2 (Motion and Wave-like properties of light). It will not cover the detailed studies. It is designed to take 1 hour (assuming .5 hours of school-based testing on a detailed study). Question format will be similar to that used in VCAA Unit 3/4 examination. YEAR 11 PSYCHOLOGY In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce two papers for students undertaking Units 1 and 2. • For the May Test Period the paper will cover Unit 1 content only. It will consist of 45 multiple choice items and several short answer questions and will assess key knowledge and skills for both Areas of Study. It is designed to take 1.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time). For the October test period the paper will cover both Unit 1 and 2 content. It will assess key knowledge and skills for both Areas of Study. It is designed to take 2 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time). Question format will be similar to that used in VCAA Unit 3/3 examination and will include a research requiring short answer responses. YEAR 12 ACCOUNTING In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce two papers for students undertaking Units 3 and 4. • For the May Test Period the paper will cover Unit 3 content only. It will consist of a selection of structured questions. It is designed to take 1.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time) and will provide preparation for the end of year test paper. • For the October test period the paper will consist of a selection of structured questions. It is designed to take 2 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time) and will reflect the format of the VCAA Unit 3/4 examination. YEAR 12 BIOLOGY In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce two papers for students undertaking Units 3 and 4. • For the May test period the paper will cover Unit 3 content only. This test paper should act as preparation for the end of year test paper. • For the October test period the paper will consist of 40 multiple choice items and a selection of structured questions. It is designed to take 2.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time) and will reflect the format of the VCAA Unit 3/4 examination. YEAR 12 CHEMISTRY In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce two papers for students undertaking Units 3 and 4. • For the May test period the paper will cover Unit 3 content only. It will consist of 30 multiple choice questions and eleven short answer questions. It is designed to take 2.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time). • For the October test period will consist of 30 multiple choice questions and 11 short answer questions. It is designed to take 2.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time) and will reflect the format of the VCAA 2013 Unit 3/4 examination. YEAR 12 PHYSICS In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce two papers for students undertaking Units 3 and 4. • For the May Test Period the paper will cover the two Unit 3 Areas of Study with questions in the proportions and form suggested by VCAA for the November examination. It will not cover any Detailed Studies. It is designed to take 1.25 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time). • For the October test period the paper will cover all four Areas of Study and all six Detailed Studies from Units 3/4. It is designed to take 2.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time) and will reflect the format of the VCAA Unit 3/4 examination. YEAR 12 PSYCHOLOGY In 2015 CSE/IARTV will produce two papers for students undertaking Units 3 and 4. • For the May test period the paper will cover Unit 3 content only. It will consist of 45 multiple choice items (Section A) and a selection of structured questions (Section B) and Section C (research scenario with short answer questions and an extended response). It is designed to take 1.5 hours (plus 10 minutes reading time). • For the CSE/IARTV October test period and will consist of Section A (65 multiple choice items), Section B (structured short answer questions) and Section C (research scenario with short answer questions and an extended response). It is designed to take 2.5 hours (plus 15 minutes reading time) and will reflect the format of the VCAA Unit 3/4 examination.
